Chicago politics proves the old adage that "birds of a feather, flock together" is true.

I should have added a "J" for Jesse Jackson, Jr., a.k.a., the "snitch" and/or for Jesse Jackson, Sr., a.k.a., the shakedown artist.

Sorry, can't eat the "Chicago Soup" because it's toxic.

And I feel so "comforted" knowing that a Chicago Pol is going to be our President.

That is the but one spoonfull of our toxic soup. You could have a whole diff. can in COOK or shall we say Crook county. John Stroger (cook county board pres) had a stroke they kept him hidden, and kept it quiet. He was re-elected and then gifted the job to his kid Todd AKA Erkle. We do not like fair elections here, just payoffs and handoffs.

Cook county isn't much different from the rest of American politics, only the "degree" of corruption. For instance, Blago was just trying to support a "high maintenance" wife by selling a Senate seat to the person who gave the most to his political coffer and that isn't much different that BHO "awarding" ambassadorships to the people who gave the most money to his campaign. In fact, being an ambassador is a little cheaper, only $100K or so.

With corruption running rampant and "rigged" elections, the question is this; is our political system beyond repair?

Here is what bothers me. No matter who is elected (with a few exceptions), they all become POTP (Part Of The Problem) shortly after they get to Washington and forget that they were elected to become POTS (Part Of The Solution ).

It seems to me that we need a system of "instant recall" (using the internet) of our elected representatives in order to make them do what they said they would do.

The old political joke - How can you tell if a politician is telling a lie? If his/her lips are moving - is (unfortunately) true.

Blago was elected as a reformer, Now we find out he used to be a MOB bookie. We should have known he spelt reformer, ENFORCER. He is absolutly NUTS, he is vowing to fight to stay in office, "to do the job I was elected by the good people of IL." I want to puke.

Just watch this is the tip of the ice berg, Blago will sing like a canary. Many of the lib. dem.s that run this state will be quaking in their boots. This may be what this state needs, a complete reset. OUT with the old and start anew. May be the rep. can do better, they certainly can not do worse. We have the highest tax rates in te country, and yet every agency is broke. HMMM maybe fire some of the idiots you padded the workplace with. Cook county is filled with nepotism and machine politics, state and city the same.

I hope BO is diff but he runs with the same crowd, Chicago pols are still Chicago pols.
