Rep Power: 26 | Re: MCCAIN SUSPENDS CAMPAIGN TO FOCUS ON ECONOMY; WANTS DEBATE DELAY I understand your lack of vision. As an Obama supporter, I understand how you can only see the impotency of your candidate. However, McCain has more experience and a history of working with members of both parties in the best interests of the country. HENSE, "Country First!" McCain knows he can better serve his constituents and his country by working in DC during this economic crisis. And he knows that he can make the difference in whether legislation passes or not. Obama does not have the knowledge, experience or balls to get the job done. Looks like Obama is fearful of being pressed into a decision where he can't vote "Present." Obama, not surprisingly, thinks a debate ("just words') and "politics, as usual" is a bigger priority than actual leadership and governing for the good of the country. Obama plans to go to the debate alone. That would be seen as an interview and a political event. Irresponsible. Obama is, clearly, not ready to lead. You do realize this could backfire BIG time if nothing happens quick, and it will backfire in McCains face. I bet Obama set him up! Sweet!

Rep Power: 26 | Re: MCCAIN SUSPENDS CAMPAIGN TO FOCUS ON ECONOMY; WANTS DEBATE DELAY Obama is on TV. "... just words...." Obama plans to keep doing what he has been doing. He is pressing ahead with politics, as usual, and he wants to debate foreign policy on Friday. Obama, clearly, is not ready to lead. He is looking more and more like a hack. |

Rep Power: 29 | Re: MCCAIN SUSPENDS CAMPAIGN TO FOCUS ON ECONOMY; WANTS DEBATE DELAY And McCain isn't interested in explaining to the country his plan to work on this. He'd rather it be behind closed doors. That's ok. It's not like it's TAXPAYER'S MONEY they are dealing with. |

Rep Power: 23 | Re: MCCAIN SUSPENDS CAMPAIGN TO FOCUS ON ECONOMY; WANTS DEBATE DELAY Unless the last 2 days polls are a FRAUD.... methinks NOBama will win now. The low IQ people that are getting polled (they never call me) are blaming the whole financial mess on republicans... because after all WALL ST must be 100% republican they think. They have no clue that the democrats are at least 90% responsible for allowing no-doc loans to be given away to idiots who couldn't pay it back.... all in the name of "affordable housing" - or cars or whatever. Buy now - pay later - or never in the case of deadbeats. So... instead of the lower 50% rioting in the streets when Obama loses - it will be the upper 50% rioting in the streets when Obama wins. Oh well - I've never been in a riot before. Let's see... where's the nearest gun show with automatic conversion pieces for sale? Just kidding... but it's getting close to that. I do have my "expert" M-16 badge from my army reserve days. They let me fire it on automatic once. Scared the crap outa me! |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: MCCAIN SUSPENDS CAMPAIGN TO FOCUS ON ECONOMY; WANTS DEBATE DELAY Solar, until the RNC, Obama was ahead in the polls for a long time. I do agree though, I can see people getting VERY vocal no matter which way it goes. If I recall, was Bush Jr. the first president prevented from his inaugural drive to the White house? Eggs thrown and such.

Rep Power: 23 | Re: MCCAIN SUSPENDS CAMPAIGN TO FOCUS ON ECONOMY; WANTS DEBATE DELAY Eggs or no eggs... including eggfant... this whole thing is very scary. I just heard on TV that the entire residential plus commercial outstanding mortgage debt is about 14 trillion dollars. So this 1 trillion bail-out or "rescue" is only 7% of the total. What if ALL 14 trillion defaulted? They would then steal all our savings accounts, money markets, CD's, 401K's, etc cash money to pay it off.... leaving us "older" folks with good savings and little or no debt with NOTHING left. THAT would indeed cause a riot - or worse. Thankfully I still have a mortgage.... so I can default on something too if need be. To helll with my perfect credit rating. But the mortgage is a mere fraction of accumulated savings - so still horrible if the whole system goes bonkers. Super scary. Should have cashed out into gold a month ago. Maybe tomorrow? Rep Power: 23 | Re: MCCAIN SUSPENDS CAMPAIGN TO FOCUS ON ECONOMY; WANTS DEBATE DELAY For once, Unity, I pretty much agree with you. Ron Paul was treated as a kook by many reps (including me) ... but he was (is) correct on many of his positions. I knew that a year ago too... but couldn't support a non-mainstream candidiate who could never win. Tsk-tsk on me. Whatever.... just over the last hour McCain is gaining (some) credit for cancelling campaign events to work on this crisis. Bush speech was OK... but we'll see what happens tomorrow through Saturday. |
