Re: Let's argue politics ...

Screw the President,Congress and all the other A-holes that run the country.Do what you need to do to survive.Don't rely on some politician to help you line your pockets, there only worried about lining there own.

Now your talking my language, do what you need to do but elect the guys that will leave you alone. I too had a rough patch, I owned multiple Cell phone stores over a 12 year period, slowly the carrier changed things. Thats when I opened up my first laundry in a small strip mall I own, half laundry, half cell store. then Verizon opend a store next to one of mine, I shrunk down to one store, but it was still pretty profitable. We were an old dealer w/ huge base that earned us great residuals. The VZW opend a corp store 1/2 mile away. I was ****** but thats when I investigated tanning and opend a salon. I did not fold up and go home, I adjusted thats what we all need to do.

But you need an environment to do that, you do not need the gov breathing down your neck. Cook county also known as crook county IL is all dem all day, they are the most corrupt county in the country. But our rep. gov is in jail also. Maybe it in the water here LOL. The county is up every ones rearend, yet they can't find theirs w/ both hands. Bigger gov = Bigger headaches for us Bus. owners.

enough rambling.....

Re: Let's argue politics ...

The gas issue is extremely temporary. It will never see 50cents a gallon but $4+ is a joke.

Hello, the dollar is worthless cause the USA appears worthless to the rest of the world and that's the MAIN reason we have this high gas prices. IT'S CALLED A RECESSION and you can hide under the bed from it and PRETEND it doesn't exist but YOU ARE STARING IT IN THE FACE EVERY TIME YOU BUY FROM OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY.

GAS IS OUTSIDE OF THE COUNTRY. OUR MONEY IS TOILET PAPER SO THEY WANT 4 ROLLS INSTEAD OF THE USUAL 1 ROLL. SIMPLE.

It's when people pull the OH YOU LIBERAL ASSHOLES TALKING ABOUT RECESSION YOU HAVE NO IDEA BLAH BLAH BLAH makes it kinda hard to take said person seriously as in HOW DID YOU BREAK OUT OF THE CHAINS AT THE FUNNY FARM???

We take NO responsibility for anything EVEN IF it happens on our own soil. We throw open threats of WAR to anyone that's willing to question the child in command and no one is interested in playing with 3rd grade politics that's packaged with EXTREME ARROGANCE.

Most of Bush's closest people are the WORLDS MOST DESPICABLE HUMANS in the eyes of more than one person.

Why would anyone want to do business OR EVEN CARE TO?

And what is the USA doing about it? WAR WAR WAR. SPEND SPEND SPEND. DO NOTHINGS that are praised for being just that.

Paris Hilton makes $100s of MILLIONS a year for being a poster child for a SPOILED PIECE OF **** that in any other country SHE'D BE STONED TO DEATH. This country PRAISES her ability to DO NOTHING and the younger generations follow her lead.

And what do we do? RAISE THE MINIMUM WAGE SO THESE DO NOTHINGS CAN MAKE ENDS MEET.

YOU TELL ME, if your business people ACTED IN THIS MANNER would YOU want to do business with them or wait till they ran themselves out of business or put them in a position that they'd have to SELL THEMSELVES OUT to avoid complete shut down.

I'll take option 2 and so did the rest of the world.

Thank the Dems for that bright idea.

Re: Let's argue politics ...

You talk like raising the minimum wage is a bad thing - and I don't fault you for that. You have to "pay" minimum wage, not work for it. I don't have to do either, fortunately, and I am grateful for that. Everything is "relative", based on your own personal situation and perception (I don't just mean you, Jim, I"m talking about all of us with that). "Minimum wage", by the way, at one time is what got most of our relatives into the middle class and out of poverty in the first place - now it's simply a means of "class/caste control" and a bargaining chip for politicians. But I digest.

Back to the topic: who is the best candidate, and why? McCain has made it clear that he intends to tow the party line when it comes to most things (including using token charity, ie. temporary gas tax reprieves and phony tax rebates masquerading as "tax cuts"), and especially our overseas military missions in the "War on Terror". Some might say their tactics are succeeding because there have been no more attacks on American soil - I say they have gotten lucky, so far. What else is McCain for? Tell us what you (anybody) know about that. And then tell us what it is about John McCain's history and experience guarantees that we can trust him to follow through.

"The Democrats", every bit the panderers, the whiners, the users, the prophets of disaster and the blamers. A totally useless political party in my estimation. Weak, self-serving, appealer, beggar SOBs. But Barak Obama is a different kind of Democrat. He's a little man, like the rest of us, who made it big, like a cou[le of y'all. A man with integrity. A man who knows you'll have to fight the bully, but isn't afraid to try to talk to the ******* first - face to face! A man that believes that every American, regardless of class/caste should get proper medical care and affordable meds. OUr current regime (including Democrats!) will dole out thousands, even millions of dollars to their cronies in big business for nothing (A Haliburton subholding currently gets $100.00 per load of wash for GI laundry in the Green Zone in Baghdad, and forbids the troops to do their own or "outsource", and our tax dollars pay for it), while many Americans from all walks of life suffer. Obama doesn't think that's "right", and neither do I. But again, I digest.

Which candidate, based on what they have said, how they have acted, and their histories up to this point, do you feel is the BEST candidate to lead our nation for the next four years? I'm serious. Lay your personal feelings aside about what ought to be done and what has and has not been done up to now over the last 20 years. Starting in Jan. '09, which of these two men do you feel give our country the best chance at a "successful" future going into the next decade?

Re: Let's argue politics ...

Re: Your response on the increased minimum wage.

For us, the minimum of $6.15/hr has never been anything but a training wage.

McDonalds pays $7.00-$7.50 to start. You think I can get away with anything less?

All raising the minimum wage did was increase what I had to pay employees that were already making more than minimum wage.

As for Obama, he is an inexperienced light-weight who got lucky one day in Iowa. He is no more qualified to be President than I am. For a guy with no game, he talks a good game.

Obama does have a very respectable organization and fundraising machine. If he, somehow, does lose the contest, he should replace Dean as party chair.

Re: Let's argue politics ...

Jim, I would probably vote for you if you ran for president, if for no other reason than you seem to be a "No Bull ****" kind of man. As for the minimum wage, is it even a "living wage" for the people who work for that every day? Seriously, is it? What kind of argument is that? You want to hate the Democrats (the Democratic politicians that is, that are no better than the Republican "politicians", I might add) for their hypocrisy and their dirty dealing, underhanded tactics? Fine! I'm right there with you!!! I'll back you to the wall!

Your claims about Obama though ... "enexperienced" how? It seems to me that nobody has any experience being president except for fromer presidents. Right? I was an experienced bed tech until I started fixing beds. You were an inexperienced tanning salon owner until you became one, and managed somehow to stay one under the circumstances. Theis entire "experince" line of reasoning in regards to the presidancy of the U.S. is all bull ****! And you **** well know it!

Tell me what it is about Obama's past and the man he is that makes him a poor candidate for the office!

Re: Let's argue politics ...

Ok, I understand, too confrontational ... my apologies. Just tell me about McCain and his positives, his experience that qualifies him to hold the office, and how he ends up being a net gain for the country if elected.

Perhaps he'd attack Iran. That would be interesting...

Don't worry... the old white guy won't win.

Anyone making decent money will be screwed. Anyone not will be given more of the former's money. Time to move to Dubai - because not enough liberals fled to France where they belong.
