Re: Let's argue politics ...
Vote for a third/fourth/tenth party, in fact vote in Spicolli to party, I do not care. I stated reality, wanna waste your vote in protest go ahead. There are two parties, one of the two will win, the answer is A or B, but if you choose to write in Z do not cry about the results.
Why always the personal attacks? Napolian complex or just a little weiner? I think if we went to high school together I would not have known your pimply little A$$ existed. Anytime you want to compare balance sheets I'd be glad to. Try debating issues, not slandering the other side. Your a leftist fine lets debate policy, I am a conservative. What issue would like to debate and lets see if you can complete a paragraph w/out calling someone a name. Leave your bombs at home, and debate an issue. I have one that is near and dear to my heart, ENERGY. I am paying 2.3 times my normal Natural Gas rate, in my Laundromats. I drive to multiple locations every day, and am burning $$$ on that front also. As stated earlier I think we need to drill our way out(Anwar and Offshore), release the strategic reserves, and start constuction on nuclear power stations ( the reason Nat gas is so high is it is the primary fuel for electicty generation) also conserve where possible. An expert said that if we did those things we could have a drop in per barrell price of $30-40 within weeks of the anouncement. I am not against the advancement of renewables, hydrogen, wind, whatever. The reality of the situation is we are still an economy driven by OIL, that is not changing any time soon. Hybrid cars are a great Idea, How many people own one?? It will take 20 years to phase out todays cars, if a new method of propulsion arrived tommorrow. Now try and respond without calling anyone any names, don't make me fly to Boston just to Beatch slap you, I'd rather buy you a pint |

Im just going to respond with saying I very much agree. And that you spelled tomorrow wrong. When it comes to oil and lower fuel prices, we need to act now. Not put up wind towers over the next 15 years or get everyone a hybrid in 20 years. Those are long term. What will the cost of energy be in just three more years? Off-shore oil drilling is not what is was even 15 years ago. Its much safer and cleaner and there is much less of an impact on the environment now. I live right by TWO nuclear power plants yet power costs are still high since they are driven to capacity.

Re: Let's argue politics ...
No nuke plants. They might implode someday. France doesn't care tho.
No drilling. Some fish or elk won't like that. No new gas refineries. Some old ones smell like sulfur. Pee-U. Throw the dems under the bus... and all 3 of the above will reverse themselves. Won't happen though - because the (now) 50%+ liberals don't care about any of that. They just want free stuff - paid for by the rest of us hard working folks. |

I am a horrific at spelling, and not much better at typing, and always in a major hurry. So pardon my poor posting read the context not the syntax. Is there a way to get spell check for here?

Re: Let's argue politics ...
All politics aside...
I am afraid Obama will win because he will raise a campaign war-chest of at least $300M... possibly as much as a half billion dollars... and will bury McCain in advertising and "get out the vote" street money. Nothing else will matter; not policy; not experience; not Iraq or Iran; not national security; not homeland security; not immigration; not the economy; not energy prices; nothing. This election will be bought. We are fuqued... raped... for the next 4.5 years. I am digging into survival mode. I'll be 55 next month and it's, at best, a coin-toss that I'll see 60.

Re: Let's argue politics ...
Jim is just digging into survival mode now. Remember, the blacker the president the darker people will want to be. That spray booth might just work out for ya after all. McCain has the MELANOMA and we all know it's from him walking by tanning salons around the White House area.
But we don't like to use our brains on this forum. Just ignore what's happened with Republicans in office for the past 8 years like it was insignificant. This isn't sports, this is reality. Try living in it for once.

Re: Let's argue politics ...
Quote:
Everything has gone up significantly in price, you should have already adjusted yours. Your sales may not be as high, but your margin will look better. You are a prime example of someone that is waiting to be saved. You are relying on someone else to pull you from the rubble. The reality is we will only see a 15-20 cent drop at the pump by opening up reserves and drilling and how long will it be before it goes back to $4 a gallon? China is consuming oil like a black hole. They will eclipse our barrels per day use by 2010.Thats why the price is only likely to rise and Big oil will sell more of its oil to China (at a premium). Drilling for more and opening reserves will only increase oil company profits, not decrease the price at the pumps. America has been the leader in oil consumption for over 100 years and we are now taking a back seat to someone else.If thats not a reality check,i don't know what is.The writing is on the wall, take time to read it. This country is in a lot more trouble than 90% of the people realize. No president,Democrat or Republican can save it now. |
