Re: Let's argue politics ...
For national elections, there are only 2 effective political parties. Third party candidates are no more than election spoilers.
An argument can be made that Clinton and GWB were both elected by 3rd party candidates. Imagine the chaos if a 3rd party candidate actually won a large enough state (and the state's electoral votes) to throw this election into the House Of Representatives.

Re: Let's argue politics ...
At least Unity and Megatanman (& sometimes the Plymouth Belvy) have some common sense and debatable comments in their posts lately. Not so for the poor Eggplant.
His utter hatred for GWB and Company have totally shattered his ability to reason. History will someday recognize GW&Co did (mostly) the correct things... everything that Egg so hates: From shock and awe to mission (not) complete to the patriot act to stopping the global warming tax grab... it will all be vindicated by history. However this will probably take a miserable Obuma 4 years to hasten along the history process. McCain can seemingly never overcome the messiah's (I can spell it now) groupie momentum. Romney would have been better... but still not enough. In the meantime... the feds can monitor my trivial phone calls any darn time they please - and I won't try to sue the phone companies for letting them. |

Re: Let's argue politics ...
Some things (unfortunately) never change.
Steve and Jim are still drinking the GWB Kool Aid. BTW, Steve, the statement "History will someday recognize GW&Co did (mostly) the correct things" shows how completely you ignore reality. The only reason GWB wasn't impeached is (1) because of the fact that Cheney (who is light-years worse) would replace him, and, (2) because Nancy Pelloci is incompetent. |

Re: Let's argue politics ...
At least Cheney can speak English well.
But you are right about Pelosi. Ditto the dim Harry Reed... and more. Rush is re-starting his "operation chaos" to help Hillary at the Dem convention. Tune in at 12:06 Monday. Edit PS: Hey Egg: Post that picture again of you and the fat porn star guy. Can he speak English well too? Edit PS2: Quote:
Even a majority of the Japanese (including the one I'm married to) feel that their nation might not have evolved to the democracy capitalist economic power they now are save for that horrific end to the war. Does GW have Truman balls? NO. But Obama has even less balls... er - nuts. Just ask Jesse Jackson hahaha... Last edited by solarmeter; 07-12-2008 at 09:13 PM. |

More corrupt than the Nixon white house?
The following link is "required reading" for all of those (like Steve and Jim) who still believe in both GWB and the tooth fairy. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/13/op...ml?ref=opinion |

Re: Let's argue politics ...
Memo to Don: GWB isn't running for reelection. C'mon Don, we've debated politics long enough over the years for you to be able to keep up.
Try to focus on McCain vs. Obama. I like McCain so, I'm guessing, you like Obama for President. Can you tell us why Obama might be a better candidate than McCain? (Try to stay away from the nonsense about McCain running for a 3rd Bush term. You know better than that.) Here is a pot calling the kettle black: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/...r=HOME_2828207 The worst President in recent history, Carter, calling GWB the worst President in history. Can we agree, Don, that Carter is a couple sandwiches shy of a picnic? (Full Disclosure: I voted for Carter. He was the last Democrat I voted for for President.)

Re: Let's argue politics ...
If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, chances are it is a duck.
And since McCain's platform is virtually identical to GWB's "nefarious agenda" a reasonable person can reasonably conclude that he (McCain) will give us 4 more (painful) years of GWB. As for me, I still hope that HRC will win the democratic nomination and the presidency. McCain is "more GWB" and "flip-flop" Obama scares me even more than McCain. I may have to vote for Bob Barr or Ralph Nader. |
