Re: Let's argue politics ...
Quite a pressure cooker we've got going in here! You, know we could argue the issues all day long and call beat each other down until we run out of insults, but what will ever come of it? Nothing but bad feelings. What I'm interested in hearing from you all, in addition to your opinions on what OUGHT TO BE DONE ABOUT THE ISSUES WE AS A NATION OF AMERICANS ARE FACING, is which of the two candidates you feel will make the BEST LEADER for the next four years. The POTUS isn't king; just the boss. Let's try to forget for a while about Bush, the current regime et al, and the Congress, and focus on the two men running for "boss" now.
I don't think it matters much we think will happen or what we think won't happen if one or the other gets elected. Can anyone name a president in our history that kept all of his campaign promises? Can anyone name a president in our history that was beloved by everyone in the country, and revered by foreign nations - all at the same time? ~This oughta be good! hehe~ The point in electing a president is voting for the candidate that you feel will do the best job in leading and running the country for the entire term. At least that's what I think it oughta be about. I know there are folks out there that have a lot more at stake when it comes to "who" is in office (any office) than I do. I believe that we have an idealist, Barak Obama; or an elitist, John McCain, to choose between. One candidate promises to work for change in our political process and the way things work in Washington vs a candidate that promises change from the administration of the last 8 years, while essentially maintaing the status quo. We've got one candidate that wants to talk to those of our enemies that are willing and "take it" to those that refuse; while the other man just wants to "take it" to the ones he remembers and see if they eventually come around. One of them is young and strong, has charisma, speaks intelligently and forcefully (without sounding like a bully); the other one is barely audible most of the time (at least on camera anyway), isn't nearly as charismatic or vibrant anymore, and is reported to have a poor temper off-camera. I think both want to deal with "the issues" in their own way, not necesarily the way their parties want them too. I don't know if either of them will be able to do anything constructive once they are elected, but I'd like to see Obama get the shot. I think he will make a phenomenal president and an outstanding leader that we all will be proud of. I think John McCain would be a better president than the one we have now, but only slightly. Take it away, Jim! hehe

Re: Let's argue politics ...
Honestly its the biggest waste of time time argue who is going to make a better President. If the cycle of 8 years keeps up with the changing of the guard , democrat/republican.Nothing will ever get accomplished. The reason being, the new elected president will always have someone to blame for their lack of effort and then claim there was not enough time to undo the damage the previous president/congress has done. This has been going on for decades.
Its the biggest blame game and John Q Public is stupid enough to buy into it.If you honestly believe your candidate did not make good on his promises because of his predecessor, then you got duped! |

Re: Let's argue politics ...
Before someone decides to bash Mccain for his tour of duty, at least he has one. I would like to think that everything went the way it did in his trainning, but if everything went as planned in life for all of us things would be handled differently. Someone has a qoute about walking in another mans shoes. on the other canidate what has he done for our country? Oh if your not tired of hearing the crap about him being weak under extreme pressure, then you cant be tired of the muslim crap and the grand parent picture. I'll take the guy thats been under pressure even IF he failed the most successful people in the world have some failures and it only made them stronger. I just dont want to chance electing a guy that would lead us all in the pressure situation.

Re: Let's argue politics ...
Top Reasons to Elect McCain
1. Taxes won't be raised as much by McCain. Advantage McCain. 2. SCOTUS - next 3 Justices will be nominated by the next President. Advantage McCain. 3. What's better?: 1 political party running everything, House, Senate and Executive Branch or to have 2 party representation? 2 party government. Advantage McCain. 4. Leadership: Advantage McCain. 5. Wartime President. Advantage McCain. 6. 2nd Amendment. Advantage McCain. 7. Liberal or Conservative? Conservative. Advantage McCain. 8. Smaller or bigger government? Smaller. Advantage McCain. 9. Healthcare for illegal aliens? No. Advantage McCain. 10 Experience. Advantage McCain. There's more. This was just done fast.

Re: Let's argue politics ...
Top 10 reasons to vote for Obama,
1) He's a smooth talker (valid reason) 2) He is young (for those that prefer youth over experience) 3) He is "handsome" (for those that are shallow) 4) He is Black (for those that vote based on race) 5) ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...? ok, 4 |

Re: Let's argue politics ...
The "good news" is that no matter who wins, it will be an improvement (no way either one could be worse) over Steve and Jim's favorite president.
Call me a dreamer but I still think that HRC has an "outside chance" to get the nomination and, if she does, she will be the next president. I'm pinning my hopes on the "dirt" that is bound to come out of the Rezko scandal. Happy 4th of July and be comforted by the fact that it is the last in GWB's presidency. |
