"But IF you want the 50% of us paying the way and making the country work to sustain the rewards of our hard work... then vote McCain... the "old" guy. The upper 50% of us then WIN."
Now THAT was funny.

Tell me this, why is he a war hero? POWs are not war heroes. So what did he do that was so heroic? Drop an a-bomb? Take out a top leader? Save a fallen solider?

Re: Let's argue politics ...
Unity makes a good point there. Not to take away from what McCain endured as a POW, but he did sign a confession when many of his fellow POWS didn't (I guess we'll never know about the ones that never made it out, you know, the sons of non-admirals). Was he tortured more than they were - possibly. I'm sure he held up the best he could. But still, he was a kid with paternal "connections", like G-Dub, and was saved from the rough stuff.
But all of that aside, do we want another GOP puppet for a president, or do we want a leader that doesn't owe anybody up the food chain for getting him into office? If middle-American businesspeople believe the GOP is on "their" side and is all for helping them succeed and keep "more" of the fruits of their labors, then they're naive. If you believe the hardcore membership of the DNC wants to turn America into more of a socialist system, then you're dead on. The thing about Obama is that he is not as hardcore liberal/democrat/dove as the media would have us believe. I recommend that anybody planning on voting at least take the time to read Obama's book, The Audacity of Hope, before you decide who and what he is - I think it will surprise even the staunchest of his critics. In the end, the status quo is going to take care of itself, regardless of who sits in the oval office. As for me, I want a true leader for this country, and Obama is the "real leader" of the two. McCain's whole "maverick" and "straight talk" express is all political rhetoric (that's latin for bull ****), and party smoke and mirrors. Oh, and solarscheister is right about the myth of the "white buffalo" independent party vote - it's an absolute waste of a vote, and detrimental to both of the contenders.

Why is it detrimental to both contenders? What if neither contender holds "our" best interests?.Thats a very ignorant comment to make. Neither one of these candidates appeal to me,so I should pick one anyways because I might screw the other 59 million Americans that wanted him to win..That is the dumbest thing I ever heard. |

Re: Let's argue politics ...
Vote for a third party, but you might as well flush it down the toilet. Think about it mathmatically, the country is divided 50/50 not 40/40/20. If we ever get to that point then we as a country will go down the poop pipe, nothing gets done in 3 party systems, too much politics and back room deals.
Choose the party you are closest too, there are no perfect fits. I choose Rep., I am a self starter, bus. owner, tax payer, that thinks Gov. intervention and Buer. is a bad thing. I am going withthe experienced guy, but we are way apart on energy, we need to drill everywhere and flood the market with oil. That and only that will lower the price of OIL/GAS. But I bet he comes around to my(conservative) point of view. If Obama signifies what you believe in then vote for him, hope you like higher taxes, and this "recession" will soon be a depression. I like his speeches, still wondering what he going to change. Do not vote green, liberatarian,Ron paul, Paul ron, or some other goofy party. While your vote may be a symbol of your views and a "nose thumbing at the current political climate", it will still be a wasted vote. |

Re: Let's argue politics ...
What you just wrote makes no sense. Throwing feces at a giant Ouija board would make about the same sense.
The country is divided 50/50 eh? Democrats will turn a recession into a depression eh? What reality are you living in? Mr Republican himself managed to take trillions of $$$ in a surplus and turn it into the biggest deficit PLUS Quagmire. You are a simp if you believe what you just typed.

People love to preach how this is a free country and so many have died protecting our freedoms.Yet they try to tell us that we should vote this way because our beliefs don't mean anything and all we are doing is ******* off the rest of the 300 million Americans. What a bunch of effen hypocrites ! I am disgusted by both sides, but the conservatives here want to make me vomit. |

Re: Let's argue politics ...
Well that's what happens when you **** around your entire schooling. Your immediate assumptions are ludicrous and comical at best. Remember in high school the other 30people in class with ya and how you had this feeling that at least 3/4 of them are just "filler". It was amazing how some people would just never show up for weeks at a time and you couldn't figure out how they are progressing in life?
Exhibit A.
