Working for 2 days in another country doesn't make anyone a specialist of their rules or politics.

No not a specialist,but I absorb alot more than just by watching CNN like the majority of the U.S.2 days at a time 10-15 times a year adds up.Even though I was there for business I made it a point to keep up with current events wherever I was at.

Not necessarily,CNN is too one sided.At least people have different view or opinions and provide enough information that will allow you to analyze both sides and decide for yourself.

I don't know what you did for your business when you were traveling to all those countries,but I can tell you,things that happen anywhere your doing business should be a concern to you and you should know how the outcomes will effect the "business" in the long run.Their is a little more "depth" to it than it seems. A good businessman realizes and respects this.
