And I hope we are not there that long, but there is no way Obama or McCain will have the ability to push the government to get them out in the next four years.

What? Where do you get your "news"... from George Soros(sp) or Arianna Huff and Puff?

I was just in Okinawa last year. Everything's cool - after 63 years and counting.

Re: Let's argue politics ...

Most of us will fall into one of these categories below. These numbers are 100% factual and are not based on some kind of fuzzy math. If you fit into one of these categories below, which 97% of Americans fall into one of these categories, I think you will agree that you are not the "elite" or "wealthy" Americans that the democrats like to cry Bush is giving all the tax cuts to.

If you fit in one of these categories and you and your family are stress free of financial concerns then feel to vote democratic...if you are in one of these "elite" or "ultra rich" categories below but still feel your family is not free of financial concern, then you better think long and hard about who you are going to vote for.
Taxes under Clinton 1999 VS Taxes under Bush 2008

Single making 30K under Obama- tax $5,052
Single making 30K under McCain - tax $4,098
($954 difference per year)

Single making 50K under Obama- tax $9,480
Single making 50K under McCain - tax $10,652
($1172 difference per year)

Single making 75K under Obama - tax $18,028
Single making 75K under McCain - tax $15,730
($2298 difference per year)

Married making 60K under Obama - tax $11,204 Married making 60K under McCain- tax $8,197
($3007 difference per year)

Married making 75K under Obama - tax $15,403
Married making 75K under McCain- tax $11,437
($3966 difference per year)

Married making 125k under Obama - Tax $30,032
Married making 125k under McCain - Tax $23,937
($6095 difference per year)

Obama has stated they he will return to the higher tax rates.

Now imagine that if putting $600 in stimulus checks in everyones pocket is able to stimulate the economy, what is it going to do pulling $1000. plus out of everyones pocket.

Remember, if Obama is elected, he will be president for a minimum of 4 years, so multiple your taxes times 4, think he will get re-elected in 2012 and multiple your new tax bill times 8

This is fact! Obama has stated they he will repeal the tax cuts that have saved hard working families from the recession that was avoided following 9/11. So vote democratic and in 2009 YOU WILL PAY the higher taxes stated above. NOW MULTIPLE THAT NUMBER OVER THE NEXT FOUR YEARS.

So for you married couples out there Obama and Clinton will take upwards of $30,000 out of each of you and your families pockets over his 4 years in office. Money that could be used for your childrens education, a new car, paying off bills, health care or maybe that vacation your family hasnt taken in years.

Married and only making $75,000 a year between the two of you? Obamas taking $16,000 from you. Bet you didnt know you were the elite wealth in this country.

Single and making $30,000 per year? You guessed it, the democrats consider you "the elite wealth" as well. Over Obama's 4 years in office you will pay an extra $4000. in taxes.

If a democrat is elected president your employers will be given a new tax table from which they MUST use to withhold your taxes. So that $1000. per year is coming right out of your paycheck.

So if you fit into one of those categories above and you feel you are the "elite" and "ultra rich", then by all means vote for that change you can believe in. If not, take a long hard look at what voting for Obama or Clinton mean to you and your children

And this doesnt even begin to scratch the surface on the taxes they want to raise on small businesses including repeals in the depreciation rules that stimulate thousands of small businesses to invest in new equipment each year. These are the same businesses that write many of your paychecks. So much for that next raise

It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen.

This is like the movie 'The Sting' with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened. Next time you hear Obama state "we will take away the tax breaks from the wealthy" HE IS TALKING ABOUT YOU!!

Re: Let's argue politics ...

A question for Steve, Jim and the rest of you Republican diehards:

Is the USA better off now than it was seven years ago?

I rest my case.

Re: Let's argue politics ...

Don, are you saying the Clintons should vote Republican? They are 90 million better.
Al Gore should vote Republican? He is 100 million better. I am better than 7 years ago except for the 4 dollar a gallon gas. The question you need to ask is, did I pay 4 dollars a gallon when the Republicans where running the show and will I pay 6 dollars when Obama is elected?

You do know that Barbara Boxer has a bill that would add a $1.40 a gallon tax to gasoline. Will you be better then?

Unfortunately it's not that simple because the Congress has been under Democratic control for much of that 7 years. So if the answer to the question was "no", are we to say it is the Democrats' fault?

Or, to put the "are you better off" question in a more meaningful context one could ask,

Is the USA better off now than it would have been if Al Gore or John Kerry were elected?

The answer to that could arguably be "duh, yes" ... and I could just as easily,

"rest my case".

Re: Let's argue politics ...

While there are allot of people to blame for the gas prices, saying "well before bush it was this much and now it is this much so it must be Bushs fault is ridiculous.

It the first 6 years of the Bush presidency gas prices rose $1.30 per gallon. $1.30 despite 9/11, Katrina and the starting of 2 wars.

In the 18 months since the democrats took congress it has gone up almost another $2.00.

If you are going to play the game it was this price when so and so started and now its this much higher now so it must be his fault.....the blame game works both ways, and if this is the criteria we are using, it works far worse against the dems

Re: Let's argue politics ...

I know you folks who still have Bush-Cheney stickers on your rear bumper don't like to look at the facts BUT the fact of the matter is that our economic "woes" were set in motion by the decision to invade Iraq. Going to Afghanistan was right but going to Iraq (to show "daddy" how tough he is) was the biggest "blunder" ever.

Our children (and their children) will be paying for this mistake for a long time.

Gore would not have made this mistake.

God ****** people live in fantasy land. I can only imagine what people think would be going on if Gore/Kerry were in office.
