Rep Power: 22 | WHAT A SHOCK!! The sudden death of Tim Russert is a total and devastating loss to the entire country. His calmness and his stright-forward approach of asking the tough questions , was a gift that very few journalists have. I would have loved to had the privledge to meet this man at a pub in Buffalo and just talk to him. What an interesting and truly inspiring man. Happy Father's day, Tim. We will miss you and that wonderful warming smile. |

Rep Power: 25 | Re: WHAT A SHOCK!! The segment they did today on Meet the Press today was SO heartwarming and SO beautiful. If you watched him much at all, you felt like you knew him, but after watching today's show and the tributes over the last day or two, you feel sad you did not. As an American, what he contributed to the political process and his guidance in understanding - and evaluating - our leaders, was tremendous. But as a person, his INFECTIOUS love of people, and especially his dad, is just overwhelming. As was the way he interacted with his own son, and with the children of others. So sincere, so genuine, so deeply, deeply felt - from the furthest reaches of his soul. It is inspiring. If you saw that show today, and got through it without tearing up, you are a stronger person than me. We should all leave even 1/10th the mark he left on even half as many......... |

He was always "real" - not some "tv personality" just trying to put on a show and not really interested in getting to "the bottom of things". I'm stunned. I wish rest for his soul, and God's love and comfort to those that loved him.
