CNN's Richard Quest arrested for drugs

CNN'S claim that reporter Richard Quest is one of the network's most recognizable correspondents must be true - he caught the attention of the NYPD in Central Park Friday and was busted for drug possession, police said.
The 46-year-old reporter was initially arrested at 3:42 a.m. at W. 64th St. and West Drive for being in the park after the 1 a.m. closing, cops said.
But he got into more trouble when police found a plastic bag containing methamphetamine in his jacket pocket when they searched him after the arrest, police said.
"I've got some meth in my pocket," Quest allegedly told cops after they stopped him.
Quest of Manhattan was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and loitering in a city park after curfew, both misdemeanors.
Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Anthony Ferrara told the newsman the charges would be dismissed if he completes a six-month drug treatment program and stays out of trouble.
"Mr. Quest did not realize the park had a curfew and was returning to his hotel with friends," said his lawyer, Alan Abramson. "The matter is scheduled to be dismissed."
A CNN spokeswoman declined to comment.
Quest, an expert on business travel issues, may be best known for his work on "CNN Business Traveller" and for his own hour-long feature program, "Quest."
In "Quest," the quirky reporter goes around the globe, meeting world leaders, attending the first Rolling Stones concert in mainland China and chatting about the future of British royalty with Prince Andrew.
