We are living in a time where it's cool to be ignorant and that's the only reason shows like this have any popularity. Do nothings being shown that YES they too can be discovered for just being alive and rewarded for doing nothing but breathing. How long before we get a crotch shot from one of these professional singers? 99% of the 25 and under crew can be written off. Maybe a draft isn't such a bad idea after all. They can all sing along to Since you've Been Gone while marching too their doom. |

Rep Power: 30 | Re: The new American Idol--if anyone cares I am not calling all American Idol winners successful. As I remember, I did only post the 2 successful ones. And you didn't answer my question...what is your definition of "success"? |

Rep Power: 29 | Re: The new American Idol--if anyone cares Let me get this straight. You defended a comment I made about American Idol promoting SUCK and you shot back with 2 examples of what you would consider successes in the industry. Then you go on to say that not all become successful. SO, out of 7 winners of a billion dollar promotion 2 have become what you'd consider a success. 2 out of 7 is 29%. You consider that worth it? When you win that show you have to sign yourself away to American Idol. They own you. You do all that work, bust your hump to make it to the top for a 29% chance of success and success as defined in this thread consists of staring in such monster hits as FROM JUSTIN TO KELLY, scored a whooping 9% on Rottentomatoes.com. Some big time dealings going on right there. |
