Re: John Edwards' Love Child Scandal Hits Campaign

I submitted a post with links to the fox and friends site where they did their speculating instead of reporting but for some reason it never appeared on here. It said it was being sent to a moderator.... I guess they didn't like what I had to say....haha! So, thanks Unity for finding that. I never thought I'd be writing about this on a tanning website..hehe! Still wondering why my last post didn't ever get posted.

PS- Journalist are not lazy, they are just doing their jobs. By that I mean they are getting paid to say what they are saying. It's not being lazy, it's not just an accident it's slanted fear based journalism broadcast out for a specific purpose. They all do it ... Fox is just the worst offender.

Re: John Edwards' Love Child Scandal Hits Campaign

I looked at the links and, honestly, I don't have a problem with the reporting of this breaking news story. It was very early in the story and the fire was labeled arson. I wasn't awake that early and by the time I saw the news on the fire, nobody was speculating on terrorism. I'd be curious what the other news outlets were reporting during the same period of time.

Reporters write breaking news stories using the best available information. (I have a little first hand experience with this. In a past life, I worked for UPI.)

News reporters are always on deadline. Deadlines can't be missed. The best available information moves and rewrites are done for the next deadline.

"Back in the day" I had 3-4 news deadlines an hour (not counting weather). It was full tilt boogie all the time. I can't imagine the deadline pressure of feeding a live newscast constant updates in real time on a major breaking story. There will be attributed speculation and mistakes do happen.

This wasn't malicious like the Dan Rather attack on President Bush where a feature story was reported with forged documentation.

Live breaking TV news works different. Take a look at the early reporting on 9-11. The reporting was very fluid. Don't confuse news reporting and news reading. In a breaking news situation, on-air talent is fed constantly updated script from many sources.

FoxNews does a much better job of reporting breaking news that any of the networks, MSNBC or CNN. I'm a news junkie and sometimes watch multiple stations at the same time. I watch the regular news broadcasts of several channels almost nightly. FoxNews Rules.

One may disagree with the opinion segments of FoxNews (O'Reilly, Hannity & Colmes). They are not reporting any more than Olberman reports on MSNBC.

It's worthwhile noting that all the sources of criticism of FoxNews are liberal blogs who's full time business is promoting liberal politics. That's bias!

If you can't differentiate reporting from editorializing and entertainment segments, then we are not even on the same page. If you can't see through transparent liberal blogs, then you are impaired.

If we're going to talk politics on these sites -- how about the politics that affect TANNING?
I'm game. It is a fact that the Democrats are behind almost all the legislative initiatives to punitively regulate the indoor tanning industry. Most Dermaterrorists are Democrats.

If Democrats gain control of the White House this year and still control Congress, the indoor tanning industry is ****ed. Period.

Tanning salon owners who support any Democrat in any local, state or national election is asking to be driven out of business. The diagnosis is either denial or self-destructive behavior.

Ru Paul would be better than Ron Paul!

Ron Paul is a fruitcake. An old, stale fruitcake. Thank God he is a sideshow (like Kucinich and Gravel.)

Re: John Edwards' Love Child Scandal Hits Campaign

Romney seems to be in favor of smaller government and less requlation. I believe he is pro-business and specifically pro-small business. He wants the "line item" veto and a super-majority for all tax increases. I think all that is a good start. He is the only candidate with real business experience. http://myclob.pbwiki.com/business

I don't think Romney would be bad for us. Not bad at all.

You didn't ask, but...

I like McCain. I am most comfortable with him as a wartime President.

I have a problem with Giuliani; I just don't trust him as a wartime President.

He performed well after 9-11, which made him a great Mayor. That doesn't mean he would be a good President. It's the Peter Principle.

I'm not comfortable with Huckabee either. I think he is a good man, but he is a lightweight. I don't want my President hunting peasant. I want him hunting terrorists.

None of the other Republican candidates are electable.

So following the lead of the founding fathers of this country is crazy.

Ross Perot was a successful businessman too,he's worth like 4 billion or something.I remembering him stating that he would run this country like he runs his business.

Its easy to call the shots when you have the power to do so,but factor in congress and their inability to come to terms on anything. Its like 2 kids fighting over a car seat.

I suggest no one in the country votes this election.A voter turnout of less than 5% of our population would send a message out.
