Rep Power: 0 | Re: ETS Pushing Tanning in Fitness Centers! Beauty industry news for the 2007 to 2008 season. People are going to start going back to the smaller salon that provide exellent customer service. They are starting to want to be a person rather than a number. But people are expecting more out of the salon. Rather than just hot new bulbs. One stop shoping without the one stop customer service. Those fitness centers are on the right track providing more than just one service, but are they going to lack in customer service because they are a mega fitness center? One fitness center already doing one stop shopping is Lifetime Fitness. They provide fitness, spa and salon services, and tanning but the people i talk to that go there don't really tan there because the beds are the lowest grade beds in the tanning industry. I think that they charge there members $2 per tan but their lowest fitness membership is $50 per month. so how can we compete with that? who knows. |

Rep Power: 21 | Re: ETS Pushing Tanning in Fitness Centers! I have been in numerous fitness centers that offer tanning. There is usually an attendant that does not know what they are doing. The beds are crappy, and even some I have been to have the client clean their own beds and are able to choose their own time. For those gyms who can afford a staff dedicated to run the tanning portion great...but usually they are focused on providing fitness and other services fall the way side. For the most part I dont think most fitness centers can pull off tanning 110%. |
