True.....But I would have given better advice like wait til july to get in the tanning biz LOL no get in now and save save save....

I should have told them about tantalk then they could have read about themselves...:::evil laugh:::

Jen... they wont take your bus. you are obviously passionate about your bus. and people like that... you care , they like that too... after all you have the good sence to be here on tan talk!!! so its ok to vent, just keep to the high road and all will be ok!! And have a great day!!!!

Its 15 here... gloomy and i have 3 spray tans at noon... so i can pretend to be in the sun !!!! Maybe they will have tropical looking bikinis that helps too ...just kidding!

Good job Jen. I had a hard time going into other salons and talking with other salon owners. I would let them know I was on the other side of town. Some were nice others seemed annoyed. I am just offering a service for the people on the other side of town to make it convenient for them, me and whomever travels on the main blvd. with freeway accesibility. I picked this location based on the demographics and that is great location. I know I can't tan everyone, they should know that too.

"spies" are coming in all the time ... they don't "call" as often since caller ID became available, yet some still do (using cell phones). Most ask those same familiar questions Jen stated ... Nonetheless, I'll often add a little embellishment to my answers, prices or specials if I figure you out; one response was, well you have to sign up for one year with a down payment of $350, you'll pay only $45 a month then each time you come in for just $6 you can tan in our level 1, providing you purchase a lotion for at least $4. Her eyes popped asking, and people will pay that? "oh, left and right" ... I think we can pretty much tell when someone is trying to out-do us or truly are looking to tan (more obvious when they Are PrEgNanT and asking)... I'm currently helping a gal open a salon (several miles away mind you) but the ruthless ones down the road, keep em coming, I've got so much to tell you! I really love the Pepsi ~ Coke response, I'll have to remember that one!!

**Beware of those who will sabotage as well ... had a few from the competition down the road ...

Believe me I don't have balls....its a curse called being a smartass..... I just don't like my time being wasted with someone claiming to be a potential client..... exspecially not if they have an attitude to boot......
If your upfront then as a business owner I will definetly give the advice I can.....I am not into squashing dreams but ask I shall tell the good bad pretty and the ugly....but play me for a fool and I will play you for one back..... Like I said I tried out a competitions bed but I didn't waste their time I got in and out and I was glad I hadn't purchased the bed....
