Re: Owning a biz cuz problems?
I was shocked at how tall he is. But cute as a button. His sense of humor is just like his mom and dad i think. He is way cool for his years. The first show he had sideburns and they were gone on the second show.

Re: Owning a biz cuz problems?
PS sunsally, excellent advice and points.
i get one day off a week and thats saturday. my hubby comes home fridays at midnight. We only spend that day together and it means so much to us. We are very big believers in "this is the way it is" until it changes. We have always been accepting of life as we hafe to live it at times. Never argue over simple things. can I have an AMEN!

Re: Owning a biz cuz problems?
Thanks everyone for your thoughts, idea, experiences, words of wisdom (neon) and advice. There were both understanding and funny.
Our wedding isn't until Sept of 2007. I wanted to take this pre-marital counseling as soon as possible mainly because I knew he had an issue with me working so much and etc... He says he is proud of me and is very attracted to the fact that I'm a young, sophisticated business owner. I was 25 when I became the owner and was 24 when I started the purchasing process. I'm 27 now and he is 25. He works alot as well but his shift starts at 4 or 5 am and ends btwn 4-5 pm and works 3-6 days a week (depending if he wants OT or not). He goes to bed at 9pm so after 9pm I do some work at home. I should be working all the hours at the shop myself right now because of the slow season but I know he would flip if I cut my one employees shift down to almost nothing. I usually have my girl come in at 4 and close so after she gets there I help her out for a few minutes. Get her situated with chores to do in order for her to stay busy for the night and then I either go to the bank or run some business or personal errans before I head home. So worse case I'm home no later then 6pm (and that seldom happens). He usually gets home no later then 5pm. When I get home we cook dinner, sit and watch t.v. then he goes to bed at 9. I personally think he sees me a heck of a lot more then what some of you guys stated with your spouses. I keep reminding him that he met me at the shop (yes he was a customer) and at that time I was working open to close 7 days a week. He knew it would be like that sometime throughout the year but now he gripes about it. I work less hours now then what I did when we were just dating. He says I don't bend and that he feels as though he is doing all the bending. He also doesn't understand why I don't get a FT job in corporate America so I don't have to worry about money so much and worry about the employees stealing and hiring and firing and working at home. He thinks that I would be much happier working for someone else. I keep telling him that the stress from the shop is different then the stress and depression of working for an a$$ in corporate america. Been there done that...very hard to find a real good company to work for that makes you happy daily. I only found one of those and quit so I could move from KS to AZ. I loved that company and miss is terribly but am VERY happy owning my own business. I would ask him if he would rather see me work a job M-F, 8-5 and not like what I'm doing then to own my own business and enjoy going to work every day even though it's sometimes 7 days a week. He says he wants me to be happy with what I do but then gripes about the hours (which aren't as bad as they should be right now). Everyone.............don't get me wrong but our relationship is AWESOME except for this one thing. He is GREAT with me. He does my laundry for me and helps clean the house and he pretty much cooks every night. He loves to cook so I pretty much leave it up to him at least 5 days out of the week...I cook the other 2 days. I don't have a w/d at the shop (hate that) so I have to take the towels home with me every night...so...during the busy season he will pick up towels for me at the shop while I'm working and will wash them for me. He is a really good guy and loves his job to death and works very hard at his job. It's just this one little problem that is messing up everything. |

Re: Owning a biz cuz problems?
Ok now I don't want to seem mean, but after reading your last post, I'm even more worried.
I'm sorry, this is really not a good base to start marriage. You are home every evening? And he choses to go to bed at 9 pm? If he is not happy with you guys spending every evening together this will only get worse imho. Even if he is an awesome guy, there is a deep difference between you two and I'm afraid that is not easily crossed. Sorry to say this, I do hope I'm wrong. |
