Re: Motivation.....

I think it might be a good idea for everyone to put their personal feelings about eachother aside for a moment and focus on what all of this is about, and what it all means.

What is this website all about? What is it here for? I say that it is here to serve the tanning salon owners and operators by providing a medium for communication between them. Secondly, it exists to serve the website owner/operator with customers for his product distribution, his noteriety in the industry, and his own personal goals which I can only guess about.

What does this website need to be successful? Viewers. Posters, personalities, knowledge and the willingness of those who have it to share it, fun, excitement, synergy and safety is what provides this website with the viewers it needs. Of course no environment can be all things at all times, but TanTalk comes pretty close to achieving all of these necessities every day; because of the viewers.

Now, I agree with both sides of this argument. On the one hand, we have a vendor whose customer service and business practices have been called into question by one or more members. On the other hand, we have the vendor in question paying a fee to this website to advertise itself to the viewers (its potential customers). And in the middle, we have the website owner and his appointed officers with an obligation to both sides.

It goes without saying that "attacks" of any nature should not be tolerated in order to maintain the balance and synergy on the site. At he same time, the website owner cannot matter of factly silence its viewership when they voice uncomfortable or critical information or opinions about paying sponsors. These are opportunities for the sponsor in question and the website owner to serve the viewers and potential customers by encouraging change to improve the situation or to "clear the air about" it.

I don't recall MJ's tag line that zapped, but if it was a proverbial knife in the side of the vendor, then it deserved to be zapped. And just as they were obligated to maintain the synergy and safety of the community by removing the viewer's statement, they are obligated to work with their sponsor to get to the bottom of the accusations. If true, then the website owner owes it to his viewership to affect change to the vendor's policies and practices, or expose them for what they are and decline their patronage. However, should the accusations prove to be false, then statements exonerating the vendor need to be made publicly, and the accusors should be made to retract and apologize for their statements, or be dismissed from the community.

Good luck to everyone. -Belvy

Re: Motivation.....

TO ALL THOSE WHO CORRECTED THE SIG...Thank you. You can not make ever customer happy, and if someone who never tanned in my store slandered me...I would look into legal ramifications (which I think Nichesoft should do) and those that don't know personnally should remain silent and stick to their daycare!
