Anyone hear of Billy McKnight and Mindy McCready? The story of the two country singers and he is now looking at attempted murder on her because he choked her??
Well, I grew up with Billy, here in my town. I firmly do NOT believe he did ( he is a teddy bear and has always done anything he can for anyone that needs it) such a thing since she is a druggie, alcoholic, whack job and has a history. She went as far as telling him she will NOT allow him to better his career over hers. I think this **** is her way of proving that. If he is convicted, his career is over and she will stay in the limelight.
ANYHOW, my question is, what do you think of me having him here at the salon for an autograph signing of his CD. Advertise and make it a big day.
I guess I am looking for opinions on the situation to feel out if it will do me any good here. Some people may believe it and hate him. These people will be from around here and a lot will know him personally but, the ones that don't may have a different opinion and stay away.
This is why I called this "off the wall question."

I know he will do it for me and help my business but, he will be helping his career as well getting some advertisement and future fans?

What does anyone think??

What is the local feeling about him? Do your customers know him as you do and feel the same way. I am somewhat conservative.
I don't want to loose customers over politics or religion. I probably wouldn't have a contraversal figure. If your customers believe in him as you do it is a good idea though.

Did you see her on the Oprah show talking about the situation? Not good for him. I wouldn't do it.
Her story was very convincing. She wasn't trying to make herself out to be an angel, she was talking about how stupid she was for going back. Oprah basically told her that she was pathetic. They showed the picture of her in the hospital & it was not a pretty picture. The girl had her nose broken! I don't think she would do that to herself.

Not trying to say anything about your friend, but from what I have read a sociopath (sp?) can be very deceiving. Scott Peterson for example, everyone thought he was just an all american guy but we know how that story ended.

I have to agree with the others. He may be a really nice guy, but if the public views him negatively it could be bad for your business. Maybe you could do something after the case has been settled, that is if everything comes out in his favor.

Yeah, I guess I'll hold off. I never saw the Oprah show and heard she was on Larry King too. never saw any of them. Maybe I am being blind to all this because I have known him since a young age. (We always used to go to Kareoke bars and let him sing all night. lol) One thing I do know though is his manager told me, a few weeks ago, that when she was at the taping of the Oprah show, she called Billy's cell (manager was with him) and she picked a fight with him and made a huge scene over the phone and then as soon as the taping was over, she called back and apologized and asked him to get back with her. She just sounds like a pure whacko to me but, what do I know. I guess I'll hold off until it is over. But, if he loses, he won't be able to do a signing. ;)
I just feel SO bad for him! He's coming in this week and I am giving him a upgarded tanning package to be able to "get away from it all and relax" kinda thing. Sad. :(
