The censorship going on in this site is like trying to explain away the vulgar description of the male testicles..... or an eccentric persons behavior.... its nuts here.
Diximan was trying to telling us not to complain about a valid position "like a bunch of little girls..." and I found that offensive. It was offensive becaue it was chauvinistic, militantly and unreasoning depreciative of the infant female gender. Diximan, you'd refer to others who make valid complaints "....like a bunch of little girls." Sir, as a female I am offended. I'd never include a dumb second c-l-a-s-s male to be included with my gender. (Drop my hankie and swoon to the ground like a southern belle at the site of 'en p-a-s-s-a-d-o' from a manly man such as yourself.) Like multiplying monotrichous, other sites do have these written word filters, and I agree to their necessity at times, but what we also have on this site is also editoring of posts, deletion of posts, and thought police who want every one to conform. When the written word is censured we c-h-e-a-p-en and belittle the purpose of this site, and in turn belittle ourselves. Perhaps the mod's shouldn't be like chelonian, and instead allow all dicussions to become what they were meant to be, a free-for-all with a purpose in mind. Reality suggests that this board put an over 18 waiver on it, and allow the adults to actually speak their minds. That way the right wing bible thumpers can continue to pretend that they don't use profanity (though they unders-t-a-n-d it) and the left wing hypocrites can release the torrant of verbal abusive that only puriently immature adults would use. Didn't work then either if you can remember history.
 One way the Nazis cleansed the country of "un-German" thoughts was through censorship. A "brown shirt" (member of the SA) throws some more fuel--"un-German" books-- into a roaring fire on the Opernplatz in Berlin. May 10, 1933. |

I think the point of it all NEON, is that's how it all started back then. A little censorship here, a little there. No one really complained or if they did, they were banned from living. It always starts with "it's no big deal, it's just a little thing". My reference with the picture in no way was to infer that this site is being like the Nazi's were but only to point out what happened in our recent history over censorship. It's also no different than how it all started in Iraq about 30 years ago.
