Breast-feeding may protect moms from diabetes

CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- Breast-feeding is thought to protect babies from developing diabetes. Now research suggests it might even help keep their mothers from getting the disease, too.

OMG. For the past three yrs. the local, the Breast Feeding Action Group (why we need an action group is beyond me, it's not a war) has advertised the National Breast Feeding Challenge. I'm sorry, breast feeding challenge????? What's the challenge. It all nice and well, but do we need national committees for this?? ~gag~

becuase breast milk is better for baby, get a grip Neon. Were'rt you breast fed as a baby? Oh! no wonder!
thats okay neither was I. The challenge is to see how long you can go before the kid starts school.

But? I Breast Feeding action Group?? What do they do, Yank the bottles out of the mouths of enfants and insert lactating breasts into them until the authorites show up?? Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Well, they are wrong, cause my nephew was breast fed as a baby and he developed juv diabetes at the age of 5. So the theory is wrong!

suncountry - I might be wrong but I think they are referring to Type II diabetis.
NEON - You Canadians have all the best action groups. They must have some fun meetings.

I don't have diabetes and neither does my mom. I didn't have a womans breast in my mouth until I was 16 years old.
