Dear Mr. Bush:

Any idea where all our helicopters are? It's Day 5 of Hurricane Katrina and thousands remain stranded in New Orleans and need to be airlifted. Where on earth could you have misplaced all our military choppers? Do you need help finding them? I once lost my car in a Sears parking lot. Man, was that a drag.

Also, any idea where all our national guard soldiers are? We could really use them right now for the type of thing they signed up to do like helping with national disasters. How come they weren't there to begin with?

Last Thursday I was in south Florida and sat outside while the eye of Hurricane Katrina passed over my head. It was only a Category 1 then but it was pretty nasty. Eleven people died and, as of today, there were still homes without power. That night the weatherman said this storm was on its way to New Orleans. That was Thursday! Did anybody tell you? I know you didn't want to interrupt your vacation and I know how you don't like to get bad news. Plus, you had fundraisers to go to and mothers of dead soldiers to ignore and smear. You sure showed her!

I especially like how, the day after the hurricane, instead of flying to Louisiana, you flew to San Diego to party with your business peeps. Don't let people criticize you for this -- after all, the hurricane was over and what the heck could you do, put your finger in the dike?

And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the third year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't cut the money to fix those levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for them -- BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!

On Day 3, when you finally left your vacation home, I have to say I was moved by how you had your Air Force One pilot descend from the clouds as you flew over New Orleans so you could catch a quick look of the disaster. Hey, I know you couldn't stop and grab a bullhorn and stand on some rubble and act like a commander in chief. Been there done that.

There will be those who will try to politicize this tragedy and try to use it against you. Just have your people keep pointing that out. Respond to nothing. Even those pesky scientists who predicted this would happen because the water in the Gulf of Mexico is getting hotter and hotter making a storm like this inevitable. Ignore them and all their global warming Chicken Littles. There is nothing unusual about a hurricane that was so wide it would be like having one F-4 tornado that stretched from New York to Cleveland.

No, Mr. Bush, you just stay the course. It's not your fault that 30 percent of New Orleans lives in poverty or that tens of thousands had no transportation to get out of town. C'mon, they're black! I mean, it's not like this happened to Kennebunkport. Can you imagine leaving white people on their roofs for five days? Don't make me laugh! Race has nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with this!

You hang in there, Mr. Bush. Just try to find a few of our Army helicopters and send them there. Pretend the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are near Tikrit.

Yours,

Michael Moore

P.S. That annoying mother, Cindy Sheehan, is no longer at your ranch. She and dozens of other relatives of the Iraqi War dead are now driving across the country, stopping in many cities along the way. Maybe you can catch up with them before they get to DC on September 21st.

Not to dwell on the obvious but Moore is an idiot.

There is alot of information coming out of the governmental failures with Katrina. A good place to start understanding it all is here.

The short story is that local and state government failed here. Trying to blame The President for the aftermath of a natural disaster is partisan pap.

I don't like that big fat ugly rich 'hypo'crit. What has he ever done for anyone but his big fat white ugly self? Dear Mr. Moore, drop your camera crew off at the doughnut shop and wade in the water and deliver some food and water your big fat ulgy self. Spin doctor Moore is less apt to see the truth that helicopters were on the scene as soon as the winds died down. Micheal Mushforbrains sees life through crap colored glasses.

I wouldn't waste a photon of my light sabre on Micheal Less. Mike stay tuned to the local bleeding heart network for the next empending disaster and get there before it happens and wipe the cookie crumbs from your poor excuse of a beard, put on a clean baseball cap, and stand in the middle of it directing the populace to safety. Why weren't you criticizing Bush during the hurricane? We all know it is his fault there are poor black and white people in the ghettos.

No Mr. Less than truthfull, blame the welfare state you so whole heartedly uphold. Who is shooting at police and military help? Who is robbing and raping and burning New Orleans? Thugs who you and those like you would claim are victims of a government conspiracy to use hurricanes and natural disasters to rid the country of its poor and destitute.

Have you lost any weight over all this or have you started making another movie to line your pockets with money made from the suffering of the real victims of this disaster?

You Mr. Moore are a disgrace to big fat ugly rich white men everywhere.

May the Force be upon you and yes the Force is bigger than your ego or physique.

While I agree to disagree about Moore (he's a fire-starter if nothing else, I definetely wouldn't call him an idiot anymore than I would call Bush one), here's something neat to try. Type MORON into your web browser. should bring up a biography on our president.
The thing that amazes me about this disaster even more than the presidents lacidasacle response is the fact that our nation's citizens now are showing what can be done when it is handed to US to do something about our tragedies. Kare 11 news in Minnesota said this morning that approx $500,000 in aid has been sent so far from our state including 21 semi-trucks full of supplies which included food, clothing and other goods for the relief effort.
More help is on the way daily of course. In my opinion, this is a chance to show the president that he is not the messiah who will save us all and that we were doing fine before he came along and we will continue as a nation to do the right thing and help out when needed in tough times such as these.

Maybe we should look at New Orleans local government. I mean isn't that what they are in office for? They new 30% of their population were living in poverty. Did they have buses lined up on Thursday evacuating their communities that had no transportation out? You knew it was coming, I knew it was coming, I am sure New Orleans new it was coming!
I always hate when national tragedies get turned into a political game! Wasted energy! Put it to better use!!

also crime is very prevelant in New Orleans. Even when the city is runnign at full capacity the cops look the other way, so why should it be any different now that there is a hurricane, the same crimes are being committed now that were committed before the storm. The chief of police also stated they had law enforcement shortages on the operah show. The other thing that I cannot understand, natural disasters have been around for a great deal longer than we have been, why is it we do not have a plan to assist any state for any natural disaster, isnt that what FEMA is there for? Why is the US so ill prepared for everything when we are supposed to be the largest entitie and the most technologically advanced? Are we just stupid? Gawd I remember being a kid in elementary school, and we had to bring an earthquake kit to school each year, to survive off of for at least 3 days, it has an emergency blanket and food that would not go bad within that year. How is it schools prepare kids for a natural disaster but our government does not prepare the states and implement these procedures. I could keep asking questions so I figure i will stop there.

I don't think his letter indicated that he blamed Bush for the Hurricane. I think he blamed him for being lazy and for responding to the emergency so late. I don't know about eternity either, if every non-christian in the world went H-E double hockey sticks, it would probably be overflowing by now. If there were enough evidence that if you are a non-christian that you go to **** everytime, all the other religions in the world would probably convert, but then, there's no evidence. Besides, this wasn't a religious thread anyway.
