My heart goes out to the victims and their families. This is the ugly reality of living under the worldwide threat of terrorism. Terrorists can and will attack civilian targets whenever it suits them. A similar terror attack scenario worked well enough in Madrid to influence their last election.

Hopefully this attack will result in increased support for the US lead War On Terrorism. This terrorist attack could just as easily happened in Paris, Montreal or Boston.

My heartfelt sympathies to the Brits and my respect for their response to this cowardly attack. Their preparations for this tells me that the Brits are serious about preparing security for terrorist attacks. We are not. People here are so bent on getting back to "normal" and are ignoring that this is going to continue until squashed. We had a guy on TV here last night whining about being searched before getting on a train saying that he felt violated because he was a peaceful person....
It's a different world now...

I agree with Jim.
In my opinion, the war on terrorism has been put on the backburner for too long. It seems like the focus switched from getting Bin Laden and Zarkowy (sp) to getting Saddam out of power and taking down his empire of evil but once that was accomplished we never regained our focus until now. Round up the insergents but keep the civilian casualties and arrests to a minimum. They are not the problem but are all too commonly lumped into the same category as the terrorists because they have guns (look at their country, wouldn't you carry a gun too?). We need to shut down the terrorist cells world wide. If we can track down 8 year olds for downloading music illegally, why can't we track down terrorists sending comunnications to each other? The time is now and if the current administration can not or will not get the job done then someone else should be put in charge and ineffective old men need to step down. Sorry for the brashness of my words but I'm sick of turning on the TV and seeing men, women and children senselessly and indisrimanantly slaughtered. This has to end now.
