If it's a gift from the bridesmaids to the bride, it doesn't concern him. Period..
Now, there are ways to get the toys without buying retail where there are guys working behind the counter that "wish", there are "home parties" and online catalogs, etc.
As for the use of or owning of, I personally have quite a few. They don't speak, they stay active as long as I choose, and they go to bed quietly when I'm finished. It's found in a song by Prince "P...y Control".

There was an egg shaped "insertable" pager with a vibrator alert that was sold in Europe. You could call up and page your girlfriend/wife when you wanted to let her know you were thinking of her.

Or, I guess, if you wanted her thinking of you.

One of those things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm......
