I have a quick question for you guys and gals...

Why cant we say the word P*issed without getting it edited? (had to add the asterisk so not to say peed!) You can say it on TV, it is written in the papers/magazines as well as on the radio.

I can understand the F-Bomb being edited and certain graphic/offensive remarks, but the word P*issed? With all of the sexual innuendo on here I am surprised.

I didn't think my beloved Tantalkers would be such prudes.

As a Mod I can tell you there are certain words that are automatically altered or watered down. Put the * if its a big deal for you. It is meant to lesser the effect some words have on some people. We are a civil community. Some words are just not needed and others do need changed. As Mods we do not change them. Its automatically done by the BB software.

Other than that I am sure you will agree this is the greatest online community out there.

I think you've also overestimated what the mods do. We don't go through a list of approved/disapproved words, and I don't see it discussed much in the mod forum. I'm not too familiar with this Board's software (as opposed to OpenBB, phpBB, and a few others I know) but it's not even a feature available for the common mod to change. So I assume it's one of two things: Written (meaning hardcoded) into it, or set by the SuperMod or Owner. In which case, you'd be better served discussing it with them.

With a background in online marketing and online communities I have to agree with JCL. Its either hardcoded (more then likely by software maker) or added by head Mod or site owner. Either way it is necessary.
