Rep Power: 24 | What if you had not started a tanning salon - what other business would you be in or have started? If I had not started a tanning salon I would still be a slave to corporate america and making tons of money, but not a happy camper. I would (seriously) want to open a non-profit animal hospital for low income/elderly who cannot afford to pay for a sick pet's care. They have one in Texas I believe that is incredible. |

Rep Power: 0 | Well, first I have to say that the tanning salon is my "second business" and that my first is POS/Computer sales & service--I guess that tells you what I would be doing when not at the salon... Second, I think it is an incredibly kind, generous thing that you would like to do for animals and the people who love them, but can't necessarily afford them. We just spend almost $400.00 today spaying and de-clawing a cat that just happened to wander into the Staples store where my mom works. We didn't need the expense right now, but we weren't ready to turn the lovely little critter out because of money... Good luck to you, if you ever decide to try something like that, I'd be happy to help you out any way I can... |

Rep Power: 24 | Thanks Swedaguy! Yes, I watch too much animal planet and would take them all in if I could. That is incredibly kind of you to front the money for that. I have another business as well but I still think of my salon as #1. I think the new thing is going to be services for seniors. But, in my past life as a mortgage underwriter, the surprising profitable thing I saw was espresso shop owners. I live in a "coffee" state and I approved a loan for someone making over 25K per month (in personal take home) off like 7 stores. NEON - we are next to a liquor store and unfortunalely they are state run so they don't make a profit for a person, but the manager said if that was not the case - he would be a mulit-millionaire. Usually in the morning there is like 25 guys already lined up waiting to get in. They close an hour earlier than my salon, so I get all the late nite drunks driving up and I laugh because they stand in front of the store like they just can't believe it's happened. Hey, NEON I heard in Canada they DELIVER LIQUOR to your house like pizza. is that true???? |
