don't mix very well....

My boy Chanp loves to eat rocks.. Well actually the boys in my husband's shop will throw them so he will fetch them. He gets excited and swallows them.
He has passed 3-4 through his bowls and threw up about 6 Wed.
Last Thurs night he was feeling very bad. Wouldn't eat and was running a temp. So we call the vet and took him in about 7pm. Vet kept him for two nights.

The X-rays show he still has 6 rocks in his tummy. We are giving him a lubricate hoping that he will pass them. Doc says if he doesn't he will have to perform surgery.

We have already spent $400 on him in the past 2 weeks. He also has a very bad ear infection. Surgery will be another $300.

He has a girlfriend coming in a couple of weeks! He can't miss out on that! LOL He needs to release very bad. He climbs everything in sight!

Anyway, gotta take him back to see the Doc Tues. morning.

awwwwwwww..... poor doggy.... What kind of dog is he Mitzi???I have a 3 year old Samoyed and he is my best friend ... its so sad when u see them in pain and they can't "talk" and tell u exactly whats wrong with them... A few weeks ago we had a huge blizzard and "Chett" my dog, loooooooovvveeedddd eating the snow... All of a sudden he wasn't eating and was barely moving...I was sooo nervous, i didn't know what was going on, he's still so young... I call the vet and they tell me "snow" is really bad for dogs and messes up their whole system.... Who knew??? I hope everything turns out well for your doggy.... keep us updated!!

Awww.. i love yellow labs, they are gorgeous dogs... The snow itself isn't bad, but "eating" it is... The vet said since its so cold, it messes up their digestive systems...

Yeah, Champ humps everything in site right now. Even when he isn't feeling his best.

My mom's lab used to eat rocks too! I hope he's okay Mitzi - I like dogs more than people! Yes Meltd - ear infections are common with the breed, my mom's other lab gets them a lot (along with hot spots) and that's what her vet told her.
