Rep Power: 0 | ABC is doing the same. They are going to show footage they have never had access to before now. I would love to watch but then again it hurts so much still that I don't know that I want to be that sad all day long! Primetime had a show not long ago that introduced us to all the moms and new babies that have arrived since 9/11. They showed pictures of the babies and how very much most of them favored their fathers. I could not watch! I had to turn it. It breaks my heart to know these babies will never know their dads and what they truly sacrificed that day! My heart goes out to the mothers who have to see these children grow up without knowing what wonderful dads they had and how much they were loved before they even entered this world. |

Rep Power: 23 | I have 2 students whose parents were killed in the WTC last year... I doubt that they'll come to school but it's going to be very difficult here regardless. Last year I worked right across from Manhattan and I could see the towers burning from my classroom. I live and work far enough away now not to actually be able to see the city but tons of people live here and work up there... |

Rep Power: 28 | I agree Tracie, I still cry when I watch stuff on this tragic event. But in the honor of those that are lost forever it will be on my tv in the salon. Is this tacky or not? I fell running specials on that day is tacky. It is business as usual for me. I want to show respect and let them know that they didn't die in vain. We must continue with our lives. The terroist shall not prevail over us and our lives!!! |

Rep Power: 0 | We don't have a tv at the salon so that isn't an issue for us. I agree with you Mitzi about specials on that day are tacky. On a personal level, I think we need to watch enough of the replays to remind us of the horror of the day. But I find it hard watching the tributes to the victims and even the heroic survivor stories. They are so emotionally draining. My daughter is getting married this weekend so I will be too busy this week to watch much tv anyway. My niece who is the maid of honor will be flying from Houston here to Denver on the evening of the 11th. I tried to talk her into waiting until Thursday am, but no go. I will be nervous the entire time she is in the air! |

Rep Power: 0 | No that is not tacky, that's respectful! I couldn't even begin to image any business offering any discounts or specials to capitalize on such a horrific event. Intentionally or unintentionally no one should profit from that day unless it was within our faith and our resolve. Flags should be flown and honors should be shown. But I don't see a need for department store sales, cookouts and parades. To our honor the lost and the heros of that day we should demonstrate our Thanks and appreciation for them all putting their lives on the line for not just the victims of 9/11 but for us all daily. |

Rep Power: 0 | That's another thing, we don't need to as americans present that day as a jinx of some sort. It is a day of mourning, remembering, and honoring and although those thoughts will always be with us especially on that date our economy has suffered enough without making it out to be some sort of "Friday the 13th". |

Rep Power: 23 | It was hard enough watching Good Morning America this morning, tomorrow will be tough. I cried most of the morning trying to get ready to go to work. If I have the TV on then my eyes will be red and swollen every time someone comes in. I am so sorry for those of you who live that close. Bronze , NJ, Melty, all of you. As hard as it was/is for me, and I didn't personally know anyone there...how difficult it must be for each of you who were practically there. I was at home with a new baby watching GMA (one of my favorite shows) when Katie interupted with "breaking news". It was terrible. Then with the second strike I was dumbfounded...in complete shock. My dad called me and I could barely talk to him on the phone. When they struck the Pentagon I called my husband at work. He still had no idea and was rather rude to me, said he was much too busy for me to be calling him telling him to watch tv. That day he came home for lunch and apologized, we hugged tight. Too bad that something like that had to happen for us to remember not to be too busy to talk on the phone. |

Rep Power: 23 | One more thing. I am already an emotional person, always have been. Frankly it can be embarrasing to cry over every little thing. So when I actually learned the history of the National Anthem and the circumstances under which it was written, then every time it would play I'd get a little misty eyed. People have made fun of me for it my whole life. Now I'm not the only one with tears in their eyes when we hear "Oh Say does that Star Spangeled Banner yet wave? O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave." |
