Sheila in Minnesota

I have a query Don ~ and since this is your new playpen I thought I'd pay a quick Hospitality Call ~ not that any of the sacks and hoes here are capable of Hospitality. .

But ~ I have wondered HOW with all this information coming to light (pardon the pun) and the History Lesson that we are ALL getting on the Humble Beginnings of the Grass Roots Efforts to Empower the Salon Owner , just HOW you can rationalize your behavior of late?

It is not just previous friends and enemies that are aware of the true agenda ~ even our Newbies - that have lurked and absorbed both the past, present and possible future, have nailed your skin to the wall ~ possibly because there was never any preconceived notion that You Were The Good Guy of Tanning like this hussy used to believe.

Perhaps it is, as described from the eyes of the newbie, that you should take a break, kick back, regain your focus and try to lose the bile and bitterness that has consumed you over the past 7 months or so.

We are In Search of ~ participants that have not shut themselves off from the rest of humanity (hens don't count) ~ and we no longer need to look for answers from the man Behind the Curtain.

We are in Search of our own destiny and certainly will not gang press you into being Our Moral Guide and Regulation Guru .

We will succeed in making the Indoor Tanning Industry a better place - despite the fact that YOU deem all Salon Owners to dull and stupid to wipe our own arses -

May I suggest you go In Search of the Man you used to be . . ?

Or if in fact it is too late to recreate that person who had done great things for this industry , then fade to black.

You are not necessary for the world to maintain its orbit . . . nor do we need yet another "Academic" saving us from ourselves to line his pockets.


How sad for you to end up like this.

In this place ~

Bitter, tired, cranky beyond belief . . .

And without a true kindred spirit in the bunch ~ only cooing and clucking of some mean spirited fowls.

If I could ~ I would try to save you from this . . . really, take you to some cabin in the Northwoods . . . tie you to a chair and let the Crown Royal exorcise the madness that you have fallen into. But then - to what purpose? You HATE anyone that is not . . . . 100% for YOU ~ and one day . . you will leave here too. They might not be too bright ~ but when you start costing them Serious $$$$ on the Regulation Party ~ watch out!!!!

Thanks for the "hospitality" call! I get SO excited when the "Welcome Wagon" pulls up out in front of our doublewide. The problem Pat and I have is that people think we are having a garage sale every day and keep knocking on the dooor (the doorbell won't work anymore!).

Are you and "Rod" drinking Ariba red wine together? You are both starting to sound like you use the same "guru" as inspiration for your posts (could his name start with a "B"?)

1. The "bottom line" answer to all of your "querys" is - Different Strokes For Different Folks! Some people understand and appreciate what I have tried to do on behalf of tanning salon owners and some don't. I can't control what anyone thinks about me or what I have tried to do so I don't worry about it; rather, since the only thing that I CAN control are the "thoughts" that I let enter my "alleged" mind (the most valuable lesson I ever learned!), I CHOOSE to only think about things that (1) will be of benefit to this wonderful industry of ours, and, (2) that are of interest to me (one of the GREAT things about reaching my stage of life is not wasting my time on boring B.S. that doesn't interest me!).

2. I don't HAVE to justify my "behavior of late" to anyone (except my family and my God), especially to some of you "twits" who make 90% of the posts on TrashingTheImageOfTanningToday (another advantage of being a crotchety old fart!).

3. Regarding my "agenda". I try to do everything I can to make our industry and our world a better place each and every day. Right now, ~~Sheila, I am preparing for ANY AND ALL "surprises" that may be sprung on us at the FDA TEPRSSC meeting in May. I'll be there doing my best to look out for the best interests of ALL tanning salon owners (including you). Will you be there? Will "Rod"? Will Bruce? Will Drew? Will Alex?

4. I hate to break it to you ~~Sheila, but my "mood" has gotten steadily better since I quit posting you-know-where.

5. The "participants" you are "searching" for who "have not shut themselves off from the rest of humanity" are the "friendly" people (the women are beautiful and the men are handsome) who post here on http://www.tantalk.com. Will you join us in our constructive and productive activities (see Marty and Carol, us "Hatfields" ARE trying to "make nice" and extend the olive branch to the Minnesota branch of the "McCoys"!)

6. Your other comments were insulting and defamatory to me personally and so I will not waste time answering them. Perhaps you may want to consider appologizing for making them?

Now, a question for you, ~~Sheila. Is it possible that it is you that has "changed" over the past 7 months and not me?

PS: Regarding your "lining his pockets" comment, the fact of the matter is that Pat and I have spent a little over $25,000 of our own money the past few months keeping the UVR Research Institute "alive" and we will continue to spend $4,000 - $5,000 each month for as long as we feel what we are doing is important (or whenever Pat trades me in for a smarter, less stubborn, younger and more handsome man). Now that you know the "facts" do you (and your "guru") still plan to publicly say that I am "lining my pockets" for personal gain? I for one just wish she would go away. Maybe if we stop posting to her, about her with her, against her, she will then really go. If she has no one to play with.....but as long as we pay attention to her, she feeds off of it. I am tired of "it" her, them, us, etc. all three sites are used by different kinds of people, not making any one site better than the other, smarter, wiser, or better, just different. We don't all shop at walmart, we go into other stores, look around and get differnt information.

just don't call her mommy and ask for her to play anymore.
