Rep Power: 0 | A moderator, no less, just called me an a** for defending what he perceives as silly little questions by people new to the industry. Fortunately his post was deleted, I'll give the board credit for that. Now I understand the small print I've seen here and there about THERE. Thank you for letting me vent! |

Rep Power: 0 | I have found very helpful information on all of the tanning-related boards, and for the moment, hold no allegiance to any of them. I have more than 20 years of experience in customer service, which is where the tanning industry falls. I have also been self-employed and therefore feel quite qualified to pursue salon ownership, but I do need to understand more about the business. I stumbled across these boards in my quest for information but do not have to rely on any one board that allows one of its moderators to be condescending to me or someone like me seeking to go into this better informed of the possible pitfalls. We all bring something to the table: whether it is electrical needs, equipment choice or repair, lotions, sidelines, budgets and accounting, or how to handle customers and employees, none of these concerns should be trivialized by any of us. All or any one of these issues can make or break any business if not handled quickly, and sometimes, carefully. I'm sure Drew isn't a bad guy; he has, at times, posted very informative technical information, but as a moderator he should expand and embrace all who seek wisdom or demote himself to just another registered user. |

scared,I agree with you! Drew appears to be a very crude person. I personally do not find anything I want to learn from him! We welcome you to our board. And yes we try not to use profanity at our members, yes we want a professional relationship with people. We are not a comedy club trying to heckle! We welcome your 20 years of customer service. We welcome the wisdom you no doubt obtained during this 20 year period. | |

Rep Power: 24 | Matt....puhleeze......warm and fuzzy like STC. It has nothing to do with warm and fuzzy but everything to do with decency and professionalism. I guess it is pretty clear now why you chose THAT board over the decent boards. Sorry Matt, but that was a slap in the face to us all.scared...it is a shame there are such unrefined people out there. I am sure the good and decent (or as Matt call them, warm and fuzzy) boards will welcome you with open arms! |

Rep Power: 0 | Trust me, it's been interesting to watch the transition: my posts from the last couple of days have been moved and edited and reconfigured to fit whatever suits someone's purpose. Please remember I have worked with, for, and against enough sales personel to be able to differentiate sincerety from a sales pitch. I don't mean to sound crude, but I have a little more snap than some (or one) might like for me to have, and a little bit o' cash to back me up. I will close for now, not because I am disinterested or "scared" as my name might suggest, but because these **** B12 vitamins have made my nails too darn long to type adequately, efficiently, succinctly enough to feel that I can make sense out of the krap (and I quote) that is flowing from just the top of my head. Am also on the brink of being so totally involved with salon ownership/management that I do not have time for adolescent issues, or adolescent reactions. Love you guys and all of your advice and comments! Keep up the great work! |
