Re: Tan tax..new agreements needed for EFT customers?

There was no opt out and cancel acct to continue paying off the balance under the previous terms?

Those Our terms have changed papers are lOaded with so much fine print.

The problem is they cannot provide proof, if and when any change of terms were sent regarding my specific account. They may have sent one out at some point in time over the 8 years that I had the account. In 2+ years they have yet to provide the document just drawing the case out.

I think we will be okay also. Ours reads the membership price of $xx.xx "plus all applicable taxes". We did that because our state has the tendency to raise our taxes almost every year. Otherwise, I would have to do this every year and that would be a huge p-i-t-a.

instead of Rewriting and possibly losing LOTS of your EFT's. why dont u just discount all EFT's 10% (essencially paying the tax for them) that way you dont lose them.

Maybe u can get the Current everyday EFT'ers to redo paper work to help cover and hit up the rest as they come in.

We are 87% through getting tan tax paperwork signed...wahoo!! We maybe had 2 people out of a few thousand say they would leave because of the tax.

I always believe in being upfront. I find the majority of the people to be understanding.

let's pretend you have 500 efts at $19.88 a month. If you absorb the tax you would be taking a $500 (give or take pay cut) multiply that by 12 mos. I don't know about you but I'm not voluntarily taking a pay cut. My agreement says all applicable taxes. I have an option available July 1 it's a buck cheaper. Clients can reenroll- starting over or stay on their current agreement. I am approaching this onca case by case basis . Retention is important but I not giving away the farm to obtai it. I would rather offer options that would benefit me long term.

Re: Tan tax..new agreements needed for EFT customers?

I have posted a sign that states the 10% tax, blah, blah, blah. We have been getting with each eft client and telling them about the increase. No issues to speak of. those that we hadn't seen in a time we are just going to run with the new amount and if they come to cancel, then so be it.

So, What about the EFT customers we already have? Arent they grandfathered in or something? Maybe we can just tax the new people that sign up instead of the current customers?

If they're account is going to be drafted after 7/1/10 for UV tanning, they pay a 10% tax. Not that hard. Their draft will be 10% more than what it usually is. If it's $19.99, it will become $21.99- shouldn't be that big of a deal.

I've done the same. So far everyone understands and is ok with it. Of coarse they just think the whole tan tax thing is BS but they are ok with us changing their eft charges starting July 1. I have a sign in each room and also sent out a mass email to all clients warning them. As well as the petition link.
