What should I be getting Paid??

What should I be getting paid?
I am the salon manager. I work 5 days a week and cover any and every shift that needs to be covered. I make the schedule and take care of all shift changes. I take care of the books every night and make sure the employees are on point with sales. I train the employees and have monthly meeting and additional training courses. I take care of all the lotion and product orders. I also take care of the payroll. I also set up daily to do lists. I even take care of all the sales and specials we do. Even when I am not working, I get phone calls from the salon and handle any problems. I also check in everyday to make sure everything is running smoothly. I pretty much run the salon. What do you think I should get paid?

Re: What should I be getting Paid??

guess it depends on what min wage is in your state. and if you get commission or profit share.

My manager did everything for me except payroll...she made $10 plus commission when min wage was $8 i think. But she only had like 1 or 2 employees to deal with occasionally

Re: What should I be getting Paid??

Personally, I think I do an amazing job and go way beyond my duties. I'm always early, I always stay late, (I don't get paid for coming in early or staying late either) I've never not answer my phone, I drop anything I may be doing for this salon. Basically I bust my butt. And, I am happy to do it. Any job I have ever had I always put 110% with no question asked. I'm a hard worker and have always been.

Re: What should I be getting Paid??

First off, there is no "110%". It's 100% under definition that 100% is all one could give.

Second, how about suggest a commission plan? If you are busting hump like you say you'll probably make more than $2/hr.

Ask for like 10% commission or something. Just asking for more money is just going to get you unemployed.

You have mentioned everything you do BUT the money part...it's most important in cases like this.

If you work for people like EZ or Steve, then you should probably be paying them for the oppertunity to work.LOL

In all reality a true salon manager should be at $12 minimum.

Re: What should I be getting Paid??

No offense but I didn't see one mention of the daily hustle other than remedial office tasks.

I was paid $6.75 to do that and I was the assistant to the assistant of dean of management.

(yeah that's right. SUPERSTAR *****es)

Re: What should I be getting Paid??

Never go just for $$$ to the owners.

have a Plan, show history of success at that location, retention of new employees, customer satisfaction survey results (hopefully up and to the right).

You need to validate to your employers that what you have done (listing proven results) is worth the increase.

If you are always whining about $ to anyone that will listen or has ears......
Then remember this, (my mom told me this years ago...it is true)
There is always someone who will come along to do your job better, investing less time and for less money. In other words - We can ALL be replaced.
