Re: Token Tanning

I don't even think it's legal to do self serve anymore. You can add a token timer to any bed.

Re: Token Tanning

I never heard of it being illegal. I will have to check on that. The problem I have is we do have tokens that customers buy and when they want to tan they just use the token in the token machine. However I just found out people have been getting the same tokens we sell over the internet. I need to find a different system to use.

Re: Token Tanning

I have thought this would be interesting b/c a 24/7 gym just went in next door. She and I have spoke about installing a gate so clients could pass between the locations and have access to us after hours also.

I haven't looked into it yet though.

Re: Token Tanning

We haven't been able to insure token beds for years. There is way too much risk when the client decides how often and how long to tan. I'm pretty sure no one else will insure them either. We can, however, insure some of the more modern systems, such as card swipes, where there is a control on how much someone can tan. We approach it on a case by case basis.

Re: Token Tanning

We are insured. A quick discription of how the token beds work.. Customer puts token in a machine and picks the bed they want to use. All our beds are either 15 or 20 minutes. We haveebeen doing this for 10 years and have never had a problem. The problem we have is people buying the tokens on line.

Re: Token Tanning

Is there any worker on site?

If yes, what if you make it so the client has to get the token from the front counter before entering the room? That way you can monitor it more.

Re: Token Tanning

MI is an unregulated state. You have to have a remote timer set by a human in most regulated states. Too many legal variables to worry about any how.

If you have a staff member present why bother with a token in the first place?
