Sign in Lobby - Opinions Requested
I would like to put a sign in the front lobby to discourage loitering but I don't want to offend anyone who is waiting for a bed to open or for someone to finish tanning, etc. Does anyone have something like this in their lobby? I am having trouble coming-up with the right words to use. Thanks!

Re: Sign in Lobby - Opinions Requested
I talk to them and try to sell them our services. I'm at a 100% success rate for getting the boyfriend or parent to tan. I see that person hanging out as my next potential customer.

Re: Sign in Lobby - Opinions Requested
I try to do the same which is why I want to be careful about the wording I use. Unfortunately, I have a few particular people who are already clients and I would like to gently suggest they are here way too long.

Re: Sign in Lobby - Opinions Requested
I know, it's a tough one. I don't mind them hanging around a little but seriously I have 2 of them that will hang around for 2-3-4 hours and sometimes they don't even tan. I suppose I should just "suck-it-up" and tell them straight out but I was looking for a way to leave a gentle hint-hint.

If they are keeping you from doing your work say "while I enjoy visiting with you when we are slower, it is the busy season now and I really need to cut short our chats so I can get to work". Then, go clean a room, put your head down into paperwork, or something else. If they are just hanging out generally and you think they are a theft risk, install cameras (which you should probably have anyway if you don't). |

Re: Sign in Lobby - Opinions Requested
You have people that just come and hang out for a couple of hours? Really that's crazy, I would ask them WTF they do with the rest of their time. I can barely lay in a bed for 15 minutes without thinking of a gazillion things I need to do!!! I wish I had time to just loiter some random business!!!

Re: Sign in Lobby - Opinions Requested
trust me. If someone is doofy enough to hang out at a tanning place for HOURS they have NO IDEA what "loitering" means.
You can put up a sign that says COUCH IS FOR TANNING CUSTOMERS or something along those lines. Make a joke of it. Oxygen in salon is for tanning customers only. Free air outside.
