So I just had this B*TCH come in and ask for our package pricing. So I go through our salon with her and then go over the pricing with her. Spent about 10 minutes talking with her and such.
Then when I get to our membership and how that works with the joinging fee. She states "why would I pay a joinging fee when you could be out of business next year?" WTF
I looked at her and said excuse me? Do you know something I don't because we will be around for many more years to come!

I was completely shocked and amazed by this woman completely insulting me. Then she asked in I was the owner and when I said yes as a matter of fact I am the owner. She said then you should know things change and you could close up next year!!! My reply well I do know how my salon works and how wonderful my clients are and we wil not be going any where any time soon!!!

Sorry I just needed to vent..... I'm still just shaking my head

It is a valid fear for many loyal tanners that have been "burned" so to speak by unscrupulous (maybe they had scruples, but when push came to shove they ripped people off) salon owners that bugged out overnight. Best thing you can do to reassure these people is to point to how long you have been in business. If that isn't very long, then you can always waive the joining fee if that is their only objection to the sale.

I understand that there was a salon in my area that pulled the ol' middle of the night elave but that was a few years ago.
I have waived joining fees when I feel like the person is going to be worth it! And what I mean by that is the constant attention they are going to need b/c they are a little cheap. Fine no big deal.

She just looked down her nose at me like I was beneath her for some reason. It was like she had a grudge when coming through the door. Just one of those people who walk through the front doors and stand right there, wanting you to grab them by the hand and walk them to the counter types of people.

She compared me to Life & casualities insurance that was around during the Great Depression but is no longer around?!!! I mean seriously lady! I said I understand your doubts by rest assured we will be around!

What does the joining fee have to do with you not being around in a year? It's not like you were asking her to sign up for a 2 year unlimited package. I just don't see what longevity has to do with a joining fee, other than her not wanting an added cost.
