Re: do you have customer price list

Mr. Max, I don't think it has anything to do with the competition knowing your prices, its about these salons that are trying to create price wars. Undercutting you by $10 to $20 and offering low low prices that we all know don't work. It has nothing to do with your salon not being legit, offering bad service, or having bad employees.

Re: do you have customer price list

Neubie... Agree to disagree. I believe we are living in an www. world. My demographic goes to the web before they go to a store. Good, bad, or indifferent, that's how it is. They what to see your equipment, your store, and most certainly your pricing before they waste their time driving from salon to salon. My employees are instructed to always tell people on the phone that we have programs as low as $13 a month, but for more details they need to come and tour the 7 levels of equipment we offer or go to our website. As for those salons who are "under-cutting" prices, if you think about it, maybe those low prices are what their equipment is really worth.

"My demographic..."

Key phrase. Not all market areas work the same way, there is not model to follow. Like I said before, go with what works for you! Everyone around here just cold calls, "what specials do you have...". <sigh>. Only one salon in my area has a web-site, go figure, and this is not exactly a small town.

Re: do you have customer price list

i dont have my prices on flyers either. i got price books that stay in the salon and the website which has every price.

clients that call for specials get asked if they tanned with us before

the answer no gets CURRENT PRICES as specials nd/or 3 month and/or EFT specials

the answer yes gets... oh whats your last name we can look up your level...they usually get current price for what they previously bought. we might see they bought 1 month and offer a 3 month soecial this time.

all clients get directed to website for more details and specials(that aint so special LOL)

we are the least exspensive in my town so really no need 4 specials...u want special buy 3 months or get EFT.

Re: do you have customer price list

At my grand-opening a little over a year ago one of my competitors that I did not know at the time came in with her daughter both in wigs not only did they tan in my new beds but they took free gift bags and were crappy on the way out of my salon...I also compete with one of 88 franchise big name salons, they have sent management in to get menus and look at my boards.. I am a small business with 6 great beds and good customer service, if I worried about the other salons all the time it would take away from being able to run my own. I do have menus and quickly tell people that call in my specials...

Re: do you have customer price list

If we get callers we tell them our pkg prices start at $29.95 and go up. Come in for a tour of our salon and then we will gladly go over our pricing structure.
