Re: salon software
We currently use Helios, but are looking at changing. The fee is $50 per month and tech support REALLY sucks! To top it off...they don't even have an 800 number to call for tech support. You have to pay the long distance as well. Of course, you never can reach them and they ALWAYS have to call you back. That doesn't work when you have a major malfunction and a customer is standing there. I am looking into Tan Track. Does anyone have any pros or cons for that one???

Tan Track is a good program. The only thing with Tan Track is it isn't very "upgrade" friendly. What I mean is, we sell upgrades at our salon. If a customer has a package in the Level 1 beds, they can upgrade one of their session to the Level 2 beds. That is hard to do in Tan Track. Also, the "client profile" leaves something to be desired. But all in all, it is a good program. It really depends on your needs. Check out Solis too.

Re: salon software
We use salon Touch..it is easy to set up..I have had 3 major issues in the past year and have always been able to reach someone by phone..on a toll free number..tech support outside of the initial 90 day period is a couple hundred a year..the last issue I had they went so far as to be able to log onto my workstation via internet and do the repair for me. It has been a great company so far..lots of reports, lots of ways to give employees certain access and you as the owner can lock out the other stuff...the intital price was a bit pricey..but you own it..Up front we paid a little over 1K. Can link multiple workstations too..
I have not tried any other software..this is totally my opinion..just wanted to throw the facts out there on what I have used. |

Re: salon software
TanTracks here, installed it a week ago and the girls in the salon found it very easy to use. Some were computer savy and some not so much but none had problems. I do agree on trying to use upgrades. We have an upgrade package that we sell which is set up as a product not a tanning session. It works but you have to work around the upgrade issue. It is simply and functional. I am a tech guy so I'd love something more detailed but I don't use it, the girls do and it works great for them. Still gives you more than enough reports and will transfer data directly into quickbooks.

Re: salon software
We use Salon Touch-- and it is pretty cool.. when we opened we used Helios.. hated it.. they own your database etc..
Salon Touch is so easy to teach staff..what you see is what you get.. We also use their Online Appt book.. IT ROCKS!!!! We tan 200-300 people per day in busy season.. so this year, we notice a HUGE drop in phone calls.. which is nice.. we can focus on customers that are in the lobby!! Plus our customers love the fact that they can book their appts 24/7.. |

Re: salon software
tantracks here and really like it. Everyone finds it very easy to use.
I do agree it would be nice if it was a little easier to do upgrade packages. Yet I have tried Helios as well and think tantracks in much easier!!! |

Re: salon software
I use Tan Track also. I use the 'service' for upgrades, but would have like something a little better. Otherwise very simple to use. And you can lock out your employees out of all the pertinent items that are none of their biz. I do not allow them to delte customers or give refunds
