As a employee of a tanning salon, she is well aware of the criticism and bad press we get. THere are so many uninformed pregnant women who come in to cancel their membership because they don't want to "harm the baby." I am using the fact that I am pregnant and tanning to speak up against the ignorance. I just assumed (I know) that she would do the same.

Let me add that we have the same Doctor and not ONCE has he ever said anything to either of us about tanning. Her husband simply refuses to let her...because he said so. *gag me*

I called her last night & told her to talk to her husband over the next couple of days & figure out what he's going to "allow her" to do. *barf* SHe asked me what was going to happen if she said she can't do either one. I told her I wasn't sure at the moment.

THe more I thought about it, I decided that I would demote her to bed cleaner if she won't tan or mystic. This way I am not firing her. THis whole situation makes me very said because I truly need her right now. I have very little turnover on the front & the thought of hiring and training someone makes me sick!

Right on!

I can tell you that it takes minutes or even SECONDS of UV exposure from a bed to get what you need in terms of Vitamin D. Why does everyone think we all pimp 24lamp trash cans?

Put her in an ICON for 4 minutes and you have made over 8000IUs of Vitamin D.

If you are trying to tell JOETAN that 4min in a tanning bed will do damage then you need to have your head examined.

So stupid. Cleaning beds and being around all that sanitizer/human sweat is a REAL NICE cocktail of disease for that unborn child.

EVERYTHING is worse than just having her tan. These people are stupid. Does her husband wear a basketball hat slightly sideways with a do rag?

Apparently our Dr. told her that Mystic tan has been linked to learning disabilities. WTF!?

I just talked to her & she informed me she would not be able to tan or do Mystic for sure. I informed her that she would be a bed cleaner. She said she didn't understand why. *whatever*

I would ask the Dr. if he could direct me to that study. Actually I doubt the Dr. said it even, I'm guessing her controlling husband put her up to it. There's a marriage that's going to last a year there.

Im not a doctor,so I tell my clients to consult their doctor.Thats your safest bet.It may not be good for the pocketbook, but theres enough liability in a business to deal with already.

Now, they (doctors) can just take ALL OF US and just throw us away. EVERYTHING WE HAVE TO OFFER IS NOW DANGEROUS AND WE ALLOWED THIS.
