I just booked a Dermatologist appt for next month (boy these *****es are BUSY scaring people into thinking they are going to die) I can't wait to have a conversation with her...

Angelcat...I understand your pain...If she wants to tan and her husband wont let her thats her wrong for not doing what she wants to do. As I have told you before I have a pregnant employee...She tanned until she was about 6 months, then she just got too big and uncomfortable. She is now 33 weeks and rounding near...and she I hate to say she is pasty *** white...YES she works at a tanning salon...however her big a$$ belly for some reason in the eyes of clients justifies not tanning without words ever being spoken...however...She doesnt discredit tanning to anyone and even gives those who are pregnant tips on tanning. She is one of my best sellers in both packages and lotions in fact she sells the $hit out of lotions. She knows her job and does it well...I think you should address with your employee about discrediting tanning to other clients, and be careful, there are laws about discriminating against women with child...you cant fire her because she wont tan...and with all the negative press about sun exposure the press would love to get a hold of that news. Becareful changing her hours as well...you may want to read up on your states legislation about work place and pregnancy.

river_brat your employee sounds worth keeping. i would probably keep my employee if they said they weren't tanning "only" because she is to uncomfortable.

there is plenty of make up that will make her look a little bronzed, or a little shimmery, she can look glowing with out looking really tan, many people back off the real tan look this time of year and go for a subtle glow. i have been in my salon for 15 years and you what i am not a tanner! never have been. i am not anti, i get a little sun when i am out at the zoo or the beach with my family, i don't lay out, i don't use my beds, i use make up with A BRONZE SHIMMER, dress in summer clothes, flip flops, tanks, no one has ever noticed, i have had only a handful of girls tan pregnant, its the heat factor the doctor's don't like, i personally worry when they get real big and your sense of balance is off and you get light headed, fainting is very common in pregnancy, i worry they may fall and hurt themselves, there isn't a lot of room in those rooms to fall without hitting your head, the women who tan and give it up pregnant come running as soon as they have that baby.

WHAT THE CHRIST ARE WE DOING ON HERE? We are here talking about how to promote our salons and now some broad gets knocked up and all of a sudden it's NOT THAT SAFE to the point that we got fools who own tanning salons and don't tan.

Why are we bothering to talk about CHILDREN BORN WITH A VITAMIN DEFICIENCY and then NOT PUTTING THE PREGNANT IN THE TANNING BED????

There's a reason why the US and A is running from boggymen and making everything that a handicapable person cannot handle against the law. We are surrounded by fruitcakes with 6 brain cells.

Oh boy, I feel bad for ya angelcat.
