New Employee Hourly Wage After Training.

What are current starting wages for new tanning salon employees?

I'll start.

Training: $6.15 / hour

After training (about 3 weeks) and able to work alone: $6.75 / hour plus commissions and bonuses. (Maryland)

Re: New Employee Hourly Wage After Training.

New Federal Minimum Wage
Quote:
On May 25, President Bush signed a spending bill that, among other things, amended the FLSA to increase the federal minimum wage in three steps: to $5.85 per hour effective July 24, 2007; to $6.55 per hour effective July 24, 2008; and to $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009. A separate provision of the bill brings about phased increases to the minimum wage in the CNMI and American Samoa, with the goal of bringing the minimum wage in those locations up to the general federal minimum wage over a number of years.

30 views and 3 votes. Nice.

It's an anonymous poll, kids.

Re: New Employee Hourly Wage After Training.

Bed cleaners start off at $8, sales start at $9 and after 60 days (and good behavior) go to $10+.

That's the going rate in my area these days...

Re: New Employee Hourly Wage After Training.

Before the minimum wage hike, mine was $5.50 before training... $6.50 after training plus 10% commission.

From then on, there's no structure. I give raises according to who goes above and beyond their "job requirements". I had one employee that got 5 raises in one year because she was always exceeding my expectations, while everyone else was maintaining status quo.

Re: New Employee Hourly Wage After Training.

This is a useless poll. It is not relevant with states participating with different minimum wage laws.

minimum wage is communist.

Re: New Employee Hourly Wage After Training.

Interesting results so far with 55 respondents total from 2 forums. This is an unscientific non-random survey.

The average comes in at about $7.50 / hr

Here are the major groupings.

<$6.50 totals 11 votes or 20%
$6.75 to $7.25 totals 11 votes or 20%
$7.50 totals 11 votes or 20%
$8.00 totals 11 votes or 20%
>$8.50 totals 11 votes or 20%

I'm not sure what conclusions that I can draw from this survey, other than that I need to reevaluate my compensation plans, especially in light of Federal Minimum Wage increases in July.

And I'm not happy about it.
