Does anyone rent out a room or space for hair?

I was wondering what people charge to rent a space out for someone that does hair. I have a room that is being set up for a hair styling station but I dont know what to charge someone for rent. Some people are asking about renting one day a week and some 3 days and some a whole week. can anyone help me?

we have two spaces & get $125.00 each per week

Escape, you're in Chicago so you should be able to get more than $125/week.

My wife and I own a hair salon.. $125/week is in the ball park, but the person who said that your area needs to be considered is also very correct... the best thing to do is pretend you're a stylist, call area salons and ask if they do "booth rent". Then ask what they charge..

I don't know about your state, but you might also need to have your location licensed to offer hair services.. for instance in Ohio we have to have a service area known as a dispensary where the stylists' supplies (namely chemicals) can be stored and mixed away from the customers..

I own a hair salon in the same building as my tanning salon I charge booth rent and have 12 stylists and get $125 wk...nice supplemental income!!!

not sure about your area-but my salon has 13 beds and i converted two tanning rooms into a room for a hairstylist-make sure your stylist has her managers license and i think you have to apply for yours as well. i checked around to see what the going rate was and in our area-100 a week is the norm. that goes for anything from 3- 7 days- no more than $100 a week.
i also have a massage therapist that goes for the same- not a huge income, but still something nonetheless during the slow season.

I'm adding massage, but they don't rent the room. They will actually be employees of the salon.

Ok $125 a week sounds good since its only a room and one station. Does $40 for one day sound good? Too high/low?

I'd get a bigger commitment than per day, monthly is the minimum I'd do.

i would go with what they said.. you cant do it daily... becuase if some1 uses it for one day.. they wont be commited and you wont have that income i think monthly, or even some1 full time in that room.
