do you let your employees tell your clients that you have new lamps in a bed?

i have a question. is it just a problem i have or does anyone else find this irritating?
when i relamp a bed-of course i have to tell the employees so they know to adjust a clients exposure time if necessary. but my employees always want to tell the clients "hey bed 3 has new lamps-you'll love it"! then the client refuses to go to any other bed after knowing this info. and of course i'm sure i am not the only salon to hear over and over "which bed has the newest bulbs?" does this irrate anyone besides me? i keep all my beds very well lamped-and thats usually my reply.
i have told the employees NOT to ANNOUNCE that bed 3 has new bulbs. but it always slips out and then everyone wants that bed!!! like suddenly all the other beds are rotten!
is this a good thing or bad thing?

If you don't tell them how do you justify cutting them back in session times? Are bulbs cheaper than lamps?

Re: do you let your employees tell your clients that you have new lamps in a bed?

what reason do they give the client that their exposure time now has to be adjusted?

and yes i do find it irritating that there are those who will refuse to go in any other bed other than the NEW one -

i guess you can look at it 2 ways.....the client knows you ARE changing your lamps
but then they only want that bed and always ASK for it.

Re: do you let your employees tell your clients that you have new lamps in a bed?

what happens when they look around to see if the door is open to the bed they want and say "well i see that bed 5 is open, i want that one"!
as the boss i can say what i want, tell them whatever and they will probably move along, but....then they will manipulate my employees who are young and more easily intimidated.

Re: do you let your employees tell your clients that you have new lamps in a bed?

Why do you relamp the same type of bed at different times? The same type of beds should be changed at the same time. That takes care of the problem i have seen this on here twice today why do you people make this a problem? Please someone explian to me why this is so hard?
