Re: Who has a full time manager?
I wouldn't have a manager if I was staying full time. This is just when I have a baby and for a few months after. Then I plan on still working a few days a week. I have a girl now that has been here since we opened, but she is expecting a baby in August, and will be leaving for good. I will probably just hire another part time girl and start giving my current employees a little more responsibility. That might work better than hiring a "manager".

Re: Who has a full time manager?
I understand why you are wanting one, it makes sense. I would just make sure you have more than enough staff members so you make sure you can get all shifts covered etc. Its hard when you own your own business and then start a family. I'm in the same situation. Just work with your current employees and gradually give them more work, etc and see how that goes

Re: Who has a full time manager?
I have 1 salon and have a manager. I don't work the salon much, but the manager is helpful. Keep looking until you find the right person. And do a search on here for managers to read about what we have been through. Oh and ask alot of questions. We are here for ya.

Re: Who has a full time manager?
Manager, piff. Unless you want them to do financial stuff, order lotions, schedule the other emps, why bother? A good, mature, reliable senior employee can do what needs to be done in the salon to keep it functioning. The rest can be done even if your aren't in the salon daily. IMHO

Re: Who has a full time manager?
I have 2 salons, not in much. I don't trust anyone with my financials nor do I want them to know. I agree with Neon, find a reliable senior employee and delegate to others. You can manage from remote log in (Logmein.com) and remote cameras.
