Spring is typically the slow season for video stores and the busy season for tanning so tanning can be a very profitable add on due to not needing the labor and other overhead expenses that a stand alone tanning salon has. Many of us also have 6000 - 10,000 sq ft stores so that we need to fill up now that we don't have vhs movies taking up so much space.

many years ago, my former employer stiffed me for a lot of money so i gave him the option to pay me or compete with me... he chose the later, so i left and the rest is history. i'm not sure if he's still owns his salons or not.
