Bill got into business the way I did.......sounds about how I did 39 years ago. (not tanning) Keep it simple and under control. If you have read many of my post you will know I have stated: "I know business and bs, when it comes to tanning I am all ears". I have many years of experience in opening businesses, but, I am really not qualified to tell you how to open a tanning salon. What I posted in this thread works for any business. (long hours and hard work) I feel you have to love people in general to be successful. I am considered retired now............I only work about 75 - 80 hours a week. Between Mayor, carwash, 16 rentals and a fitness, tanning business I have a little time to buy and sell a little realestate. I love every minute........even the complaints!!! I am a fixer and people griping give me an opportunity to help someone. If you read Jenns post about selling her salon, you will know she loves her customers and employees. I feel this is the way you have to be to be successful. She will be successful in anything she starts.......
There are many on here very smart from small to large salons. They would be more qualified to advise you on tanning than me. What works for one will not work for another. You will have to listen to everyone and then figure out what will work for you. Hope some of what I have said will help you in some way!!......good luck....... Mayor aka JJ
