Re: Could I get an experienced mgr for $40k a year?
40K does seem high to me as well as I'm a manager and making about 15K less than that! I'd work for you for 40K!
Just a note, I don't know how you run your incentives, but the company I work for now offers management the same incentives as the associates. I don't really think this is fair because it's managements job to deligate tasks to people and get things done. We have a real problem in our chain of stores with managers getting caught up in their own sales goals and commissions and forgetting about their real jobs. I think anyone in management should be paid a base salary with tanning incentives but not commission on sales. You should set seperate salon sales goals and the management team should receive their bonus upon meeting the monthly goals. It's the only way for the managers to truly manage the employees, make sure everyone is trained properly and motivate them to sell for you. The whole point of "managing" is to delegate and problem solve. If you have managers completing the same tasks as associates then you're paying a premium price for not so premium work. Managers should be paid for their minds, not for cleaning beds and selling lotion. They should be coming up with great promotions and ways to grow the business and increase sales. Your sales associates are the ones to carry it out. So anyway, Yes I think you should be able to find someone for 40K!! Hire me! |

Re: Could I get an experienced mgr for $40k a year?
UGH... I wish! Ive been at my salon for over a year, I was employed before we even opened, i painted the dang walls!I was promised a management position when the manager at the time left for college, and she never ended up leaving. I agreed to stay anyways, and just became manager 5 months ago, I get paid 1$an hour more than i did as an employee. I did agreed to it because buisness was not so good then... im super frustrated. 40K a year? i dont know what i would do lol

Re: Could I get an experienced mgr for $40k a year?
sounds like a good pay day for someone. $40k a yr isnt bad but if you subtract the cost of gas then that $40k a yr is now about $15k lol
