if you know who they are confront them. in a non harsh way. Like when they come in again be like I am sorry I was busy the other day, but I can ring that lotion up for you now.
I only had one lady do that to me, I did this to her it worked and she never came back LOL |

I have real and fake cameras in the lobby. Also, we keep the lotion behind the sales counter out of arms reach. We have a monitor in the laundry room. Our customers learn quickly that we can see them even if they can't see us because the employee will call out... I will be right with you Barbara or Jane or Luke... Keeps them honest. Or even say to someone you suspect.. oh sorry I was in the back doing laundry but I saw you come in. Sorry it took me a minute to come up...

Until now, for about 7 years i did not have cameras. But it never stopped me from confronting someone. I kept a visual inventory throughout the day and I knew what and when I sold something so usally I could narrow it down. 99% of the time I got my lotion back (unused) or the money for it.
Some one once said on here "I just call 'em up and say come down and pay for it or I'm turning the tape over to the police." Well I used it last year and it worked. Morgan |
