I tell them that we have 3 levels with 5 different types of equipment in those levels. Get some basic info from them and recommend accordingly. I also send them to our website so they can see pics of equipment as well as pricing and all other information. Website was our best tool yet. Speeds them up off of the phone.

Like everything else it's features and benefits. I ask probing questions about their needs and tell them how our equipment will match those needs. Entice with a first time tour encentive.

Personally, I'd never tell them we are swamped though (no matter what). Setting yourself apart by not giving much information over the phone does not seem like a proven sales technique. But do whatever works for you.

if you do tell them, if they like what they hear they will come in, if they don't want to take the time to come in and tour and blah blah, withotu hearing anything from you then they wont' show. They want convenience. And yes, its 50/50 for newbies to show up when you make appts.

If you must answer pricing on beds......Just tell them....our sessions are $6.00 or $7.00 or $8.00....whatever your cheapest session is. That's it......tell them to visit the site for more info on your salon and beds and to get a full tour and detailed info, to come in and talk with you tonight. Give them your name and tell them, if you come in tonight, my name is "JOE", i'm here all night ask for me and i'll go through the benefits and differences of all the beds.

Don't bother with memberships and package detail over the phone, tell them that you could explain it all to them but they wouldn't understand what they are getting unless it's done in person.....If your salon shows a 10, and your beds are great looking and flashy.....with your explanation on top will sell them easily.

Even if your High Pressure bed is $40/session, just tell them your tanning is $8.00/session....or whatever it is.

I agree.....pricing should never be on a website..........it's just to give them info on your beds and salon....the rest should be sold in person. They shouldn't be sold on a low bed package cuz of the price online when they come in....they should be open to all the beds and you upsell them when they come in and work your way down if they don't want the higher packages....(biggest discount) tell them we have smaller packages which offer you less sessions but also at less of a discount......go from there.
