Not either of those justify that kind of money for music... imho

Heck, I wanna keep some $$ in my pocket.
When we got estimates to wire the salon for music from an electrician/music service it was over 5K. The way I saw it was holes in the walls and wires everywhere....what if you suddenly decide to move that tanning bed? And I think legally the landlord would then own all the wired parts.

I priced sonos and it would be about 6k. I would own it all. It's MUCH nicer....absolutely no comparison in quality. But the nicest thing is I can move it anywhere anytime....when I'm done with it at the salon I can use at home! Oh i will take it home for new years party. lol

BTW it can all run from one remote or from any computer. The newest version you don't even need to be at the computer to use rhapsody thru it.

Re: Sonos?

fair use, copyright law for playing music in a public retail establishment. I am still trying to figure out where and who you pay the yearly fee to.

Re: Sonos?

DMX Tan Friendly Broadcast Network here. I really feel that it increases our product sales. People will actually come up to the counter and say, "do you have that lotion I just heard about?" It really does work and is easy to use and install.

Re: Sonos?

I am stuck in prehistoric times..... I got excited when I bought a sweet looking Cd player that I can control by a remote at my desk! All my rooms have radios with cd players......Ohh my.....I had no clue my clients were probably laying there thinking this sound set up is so lame....Do they have Ipod stations that are also regular radios so that my clients could enjoy both??? thats a plausible upgrade for me LOL
$6,000!!!! I would have to make $12,000 off of it to invest it!!
I think I am to cheap for that its on my to buy list right next to a bodibar!!! Now the dmx sounds sweet it would work as an advertiser too

I'd rather have the bodibar.

LOL yes but I can't transfer the bodibar to my other businesses and still enjoy it. I also can't take it home for New Years!

If money is an issue I still like the shoqboxes we use that are handheld you take them into the tanning unit with you. The customers have never stopped raving about them.

My personal opinion I've just always thought boom boxes at the end of a tanning bed looks tacky.

Re: Sonos?

All my customers have a mp3 players that care, although I have the cd players in the rooms.

Sonos looks great but I bet the price on technology like this get cheap in the very near future. I will have to wait.

Great post. I love to see fresh ideas and posts like this one.
