Pricing

Ok, I know no one wants to discuss there pricing online. I am putting together our pricing menu and I am trying to decide what to do. My bed distributor has suggested the credit or points system. He sells pionts and not unlimited monthly tanning. Does anyone else do this and how does it work for you. At this point I don't have much in upgrades because I only have 4 beds total, 2 of each kind. I have 12 minute beds 160W 32 bulb turbo Royal Sun with 500 w facials, the other is 38 bulb same feartures, VersaSpa. I already know my pricing on the VersaSpa but since I don't really have a level 1 tanning I am not sure how I want to price this out. Any suggestions? My competitions pricing for similar equipment would be $10 -$12. I have 3 more rooms to fill and hope to have them filled by Fall 2007, I will probably be adding a standup, 48 lamp, and HPB (eventually). I want to see what my clients are looking for too so my future equipment may change. Thanks in advance.

Re: Pricing

well helloooo Ms. Judy. We don't do points or minutes here, so can't help ya on that one. lol We do the unlimited tanning for a month, and we are the only salon in town doing that, the others just sell single sessions or session packages. You make more money off sessions, because you have to bank on upgrades on the unlimited ones and if you dont' really have upgrades then that wont' work. Clear as mud huh? I'm ready to go home.... and i'm still waiting on Nichesoft to send me my cut since I sold you Tan Track. ;)

Re: Pricing

so all you have right now is 4 beds and two are 32's with face and 2 are 38's with face.

i dont do points either. my comp does and its the only complaint i hear about them.

if all your beds are the same tan time and features you shouldnt do unlimited unless its kinda high priced.

for instance i sell 12 visits in level 1 for $40 and the unlimited month is $45

if i had no upgrade machines id have to charge $50-55 for the month.

you could also sell limited months. where it would only be 15 tans during that month. only allow them to tan every other day.

correct me if im wrong about your machines.

Re: Pricing

it's hard to say, for instance my 32 with facials is $60 for 10 tans and $79 for the month. That's the lowest level of 8 beds, but for my area it's not unreasonable. All my comps do months and EFTs only, I pick up alot of clients, simply because they wan to buy sessions not months. I don't do points either, confuses the customers too much.

Re: Pricing

I am also confused about the points. I think I will just charge sessions and figure out an unlimited monthly package. The last thing I want to do is confuse the customers.

Re: Pricing

well there you go if you cant understand it you wont be able to explain it or sell it......visits is the most common anyways.

just teach your clients they are paying for the results not the time in the unit.

Re: Pricing

I gain so many clients because we don't do credits, points, stars, moons etc.... Most salons cannot understand them so HOW IN **** can anyone explain them?

Sessions, monthlies and EFT here.

Re: Pricing

I don't understand points either, but minutes can be good, you just gotta make sure you keep track of them. Which i'm sure Tan track does, we just have ours set up for sessions and days. Just seems easier for us and the customers.

Re: Pricing

minutes will just cause headaches....clients will think they have more than they do and get pissy when you prove them wrong....IMO

EASIEST WAY TO MAKE $ IS VISITS

1 full visit in a 20 min bed for say $7 equals .35 cents a minute.

a 10 min visit in that same bed is STILL $7 with visits or $3.50 with minutes.

go with minutes and you leave alot of money on the table. IMO
