Re: Employee Manual

Might try the search function on here, i know its been discussed several times. We have an employee manual, has general things in it, dos and don'ts in it. Make is as simple and straighforward as possible imo.

Re: Employee Manual

Having an employee manual and disciplinary system is vital to keep them in track. Every employee signs a sheet stating they read the manual and understand our company and we stand for. They also sign a copy of their job description which states what they need to do for us to generate business like promotions etc. it states they have to maintain at least a 60% closing rate. At our salon we also established that a 3rd write up for breaking the employee policy is immediate termination. Write ups can be uniform violation - coming to work like you rolled out of bed, not cleaning beds efficiently, having a customer complaint which can lead to a loss of customer and money, etc. This way, when the employee does something bad you can say, well hey you KNEW you had to do this and you SIGNED saying you understood, so as a consequence you are being written up and losing commission or shifts or terminated. You've got to be stern!
